Motion sickness on a boat is real… but there are ways to deal with it so it doesn’t ruin the trip.
🌊 What actually helps…
-Take something like Dramamine or Bonine before you get on, not after
-Use motion sickness patches or bands if meds aren’t your thing (the patches work great for some but unfortunately not for us)
-Stay outside and look at the horizon
-Pick a spot mid ship where there’s less movement
-Eat! You HAVE to have something in your stomach and stay hydrated
-There’s no shame in staying horizontal all day… if you feel better laying down, so be it.
Boat days are some of the best travel experiences… you just need a plan before you step on.

So um... I do not recommend taking a Bonine for the day and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey being your last ride of the day. 😬
This ride is so unassuming... it's inside the Hogwarts Castle. LOL
I do get motion sick, and so I take a Bonine each day and typically have no issues riding any rides. I will be doing research on all rides from now on instead of thinking meds will let me ride anything. 🥲
This ride completely destroyed me... this was 2 days ago and I still don't feel normal. So if you are prone to motion sickness, maybe walk the queue on this one and skip the actual ride. 🫣
Most first time cruisers fear getting sea sick. VERY few people prone to motion sickness actually get seasick on a cruise ship.
Modern cruise ships are large and have advanced technology like stabilizers to balance out the movement of the ship. This is not like bobbing around on a fishing boat in the open sea or on a roller coaster.
Even if you are one of the very, very few that feel a bit nauseous onboard, there are steps you can take to prevent or cure it.
💊 take non drowsy Dramamine, Bonine or get patches that go behind your ear from your doctor
⌚ try a sea-band
🌅 focus on the horizon and get fresh air (even easier if you have a balcony stateroom)
🫚 take ginger
🍏 eat green apples (very easy to find on nearly all cruise ships)
If you are convinced you'll be the one that gets seasick, prepare a few of these remedies just in case. Chances are if you prepare for it, you won't need it!

For those who experience motion sickness there are plenty of rides to avoid at Walt Disney World. I would also add Star Tours to this list and I believe those are the biggest offenders.

There’s a new pill out for motion sickness! Here are some main stays until that is available. 1. Transderm Scope: a patch that goes behind your ear but the key is early before you get motion sickness. 2. Bonine if want something over the counter. 3. The prescription I use a lot is Zofran (4 to 8 mg) it can go under your tongue usually about 20 to 30 minutes before you go ocean fishing and it is great for kids that get seasick. Después no digan que no les dije…!!! Esta es una excelente opción para evitar los mareos en viajes en cruceros, ferry’s y botes. Recomiendo Bonine porque no da sueño en comparación con la Dramamina.

There are tons of options for glass bottom boat tours in Cabo San Lucas. However, only @cabo_envatours has boats that are completely clear!
