Scrapbook Base Instructions (6x6 inch)
You’ll Need:
• 1 long patterned sheet (approx. 13x7.5 inches)
• 2 chipboard squares (6x6 inch) – front & back cover
• 1 chipboard strip for spine (6x1 inch)
• Glue or double-sided tape
• Bone folder (optional)
📝 Steps:
1. Prepare Base
– Lay the long patterned sheet face down.
– Arrange chipboard pieces: front cover, spine (1”), back cover — leave small gaps (about 0.25”) between each piece.
2. Stick in Place
– Glue all chipboard pieces onto the back of the patterned sheet.
3. Fold & Wrap Edges
– Trim corners neatly.
– Fold the excess paper over the chipboard edges and glue down firmly.
4. Crease the Spine
– Use a bone folder or ruler to gently crease the folds between the spine and covers so it closes like a book.
And that’s how I made this scrapbook cover from scratch 💫
I hope you like it 🤍

My first book bind. I didn’t record all the steps as I spent most of the time as a very non aesthetic floor troll 😂
Do I love it? No. Do I hate it? Also no. But for my first go I think it’s fine. I went with a simple foil just to see how it goes and going to go up to more detailed stuff
The binding was a bit fiddly I did an alright job I did the cloth a bit too tightly bound so there is a little warping. The end pages are just plain paper so I need to get a printer and my vinyl is cheap and I need to get a fancier one but otherwise for a first try??? I think it’s fine 😂
