Today marks 5 years since the shooting in Boulder Colorado at a King Soopers. I grew up with the guy he used to go to the Boys & Girls club who did this… he used to talk about “ala” and “ the motherland” he was a bully and used to pick on me. May he burn in hell… times like this remind me that a lot of these Middle Eastern sleepers are scary… I used to smash him in Age of empires online… he was a looser and I hope he suffers greatly for what he did!! May god watch over all of us!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 #boulderstrong #fyp #sad #middleeast #sleepers

Please take a moment of silence today to remember these 10 people who should still be here with us. Eric, your bravery, your life, your laugh, your kindness, and your faith will never be forgotten . . . . . #boulderstrong #bouldercolorado #boulderpolice #neverforget

It’s been 3 years since 10 people were killed in a mass shooting at a Boulder grocery store. One of those victims, Kevin Mahoney, was just weeks away from becoming a grandfather. His daughter Erika would welcome her daughter into the world just 3 months after the shooting. “I lost a parent while becoming a parent,” she said. “It was just so hard to balance death and life at the same time.” 3 years later, Erika now has two adorable children, and she’s making sure “Grandpa Mahoney” remains a big part of their lives. #boulderstrong #kingsoopers #9news

These three schools are showing up on more and more college lists right now. Arizona, Arizona State, and Colorado Boulder offer a unique mix of strong academics, student life, and location…but they’re not interchangeable. Understanding how each one fits into your student’s college list is key to building a balanced strategy. Comment AUDIT and I’ll send you my free 10-minute College List Risk Audit. #collegeadmissions #collegelist #collegeplanning #arizonastate #coloradoboulder

Thank you, Dionne Waugh, for pouring your heart into today’s Georgia Public Safety PIO Meeting. I first met Dionne through the IACP’s PIO section. As I have described it before, this is a network I truly treasure. It consists of #comms professionals that I have learned a ton from. At last month’s IACP conference in Dallas, Dionne presented a case study involving how she and her team managed a mass casualty incident and line of duty death simultaneously. Her talk stemmed from a tragic incident in Boulder, CO. It was standing room only, and I couldn’t get in. I begged her to share it with my Georgia peeps. Ok…maybe ‘begged’ is a little extreme. Nevertheless, Dionne answered the call, and I am forever grateful. ✅ Be sure to debrief after an incident (AAR) ✅ Livestream your news conferences ✅ Know what your priorities are ✅ Pair PIOs with families who are working with victim advocates ✅ Have a PIO for the PIO #BoulderStrong #PIOLife

Strong winds will be impacting life in Colorado today. Already this morning, I-70 eastbound closed coming out of the mountains by Morrison because of a tipped semi. Highway 93 between Golden and Boulder closed because of low visibility. #wind #weather #colorado #traffic

A couple from Evergreen drove to Boulder to pay their respects to the ten souls who were killed on Monday. They asked me what it was like to live through 9/11 in New York and now to live in Boulder for this. I told them I feel resilient. But I’m sad….and angry as hell. As one sign said so perfectly, “Let's hope our push for change lasts longer than these wilting flowers.” We don’t have to live with these infuriating circumstances- we must act. All of us! Drop a 👊🏼 if you’re with me. 👉🏼 Leave a comment on one thing you will do today to push congress to finally act. Ideas: 📱Call your reps and demand an an end to the filibuster so we can get the gun reform legislation we desperately need. 📱Call your reps and tell them you’re tired of waiting for gun reform, demand it now! 📱Call your reps and tell them your’re shocked and appalled at the voter suppression bill that was signed into law by Brian Kemp in GA. The majority want gun reform and should be able to vote in elected officials willing to fight for it!
