I’ve had so many amazing people reach out asking how they can support us tomorrow. Almost 11 months without my beautiful boy. Some days I can speak about it… On Monday, I could barely breathe through it. This is grief. It’s raw. It’s hard. It hurts. And it’s okay if you’re still crying. It’s okay if you’re still broken. It’s okay if joy feels far away. I miss Brady every single day. And I know I’m not alone in this kind of pain. One of the most beautiful movements....⁣ ⁣ BE KIND⁣ BE STRONG⁣ BE DETERMINED⁣ BE A CHAMPION ⁣ #BradyStrong ⁣ This past spring the wrestling community lost one of their own, Brady Niver. He was a young teenager with a heart of gold, his mom has said many times. The sad thing is that I never got a chance to meet him (My husband had when Brady attended his wrestling clinics) and I didn't meet his mother Heather until recently. ⁣ ⁣ I almost feel guilty for even posting about this because I wasn't lucky enough to know Brady. But there is a connection that I cannot explain. Everyday I think about him and his family. I have shed so many tears for this mother who has lost her young son. A son, that reminds me (through her stories and pictures) so much of my own brown haired teen son who is kind and strong❤️ ⁣ I spent one morning on the beach this summer praying for him, and praying for our Charlie who passed away almost 2 years ago. Brady was #2 and Charlie was #22. I believe in my heart that they are connected in Heaven and that's part of the reason I feel this connection. ⁣ ⁣ But also from a mother to a mother, my heart aches for Heather. I feel the Lord has drawn me to her in more ways than one. She is the strongest person I have gotten to know. Spent an evening down in Charlottesville for the reveal of the newly designed rec room in UVA Children’s Hospital oncology department. A photo of mine was used as the wall mural! The room’s design was inspired by Luke to be a sanctuary where kids can escape to the mountains while receiving their treatment. Kendrick @kkier12 and #BradyStrong helped raise the funds along with Luke to put this altogether. Hard to describe what this honor feels like but it is special and emotional for sure.

On World Autism Day, I just want to say how proud I am of Brady. He sent me this for me to watch while he’s under anesthesia for some dental work (thankfully) this Tuesday because he knows how much I worry. Before it even happens, he’s already trying to make sure I’ll be okay.
