Be honest… you thought it too 🥹👀 Chinese neurotechnology company BrainCo unveiled its latest intelligent bionic hand at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai on July 17—and one feature immediately caught everyone’s attention. Even after being detached from the user’s arm, the prosthetic hand can still be wirelessly controlled, allowing it to continue moving independently. The hand works by detecting electrical signals generated by the wearer’s muscles and nerves. AI interprets those signals in real time and wirelessly sends movement commands to the prosthetic, enabling individual finger movements with high precision. BrainCo says the hand also features 21 degrees of freedom, full-palm tactile sensing and a lifelike silicone exterior. The technology is designed to help people with upper-limb amputations regain everyday hand function. While BrainCo already sells bionic prosthetic hands, it has not announced a price or release date for the new WAIC demonstration model.

This bionic hand can still be controlled even after it is removed and placed on a table. BrainCo’s neurally controlled prosthetic hand uses skin-contact sensors to decode neuromuscular electrical signals and translate movement intention into hand motion, without surgery or an implanted chip. The hand weighs just 383 grams and can generate up to 50 N of grip force, helping users grasp, lift and handle everyday objects with very little delay. A strong example of how neurotechnology, bionic prosthetics and human-machine interfaces are moving into practical daily use. #BrainCo #BionicHand #Prosthetics #Neurotechnology #Robotics BCI HumanMachineInterface AssistiveTechnology
My visit to BrainCo 强脑科技 in Hangzhou left a deep impression, as we saw a range of innovative products incorporating brain-machine interface that could make a major difference to many users - whether it is amputees seeking a better quality of life, or youngsters with autism who respond to a customised approach to learning and development, or people who want to improve their sleep quality. Here’s a closer look!

BrainCo has introduced an AI-powered system that turns brain signals into robot commands
Robot hands are becoming the next battleground in humanoid robotics, with companies racing to build hands that can move and interact more like humans. 🤖🖐️ Tesla, BrainCo, Wuji, and 1X are developing advanced robotic hands with 20-plus degrees of freedom, designed for precise movements, tool use, and sensing textures. Some designs use tendon-driven fingers inspired by the human forearm, while others place motors directly inside each finger, showing the different approaches being explored to make robot hands more capable. The BrainCo prosthesis is amazing, because it can even work separately from the body. In addition, the user easily moves his bionic arm with high precision, which allows them to perform such a difficult task as playing the piano. #Prosthetics #BionicArm #NeuroTech #MedicalRobotics #FutureOfHealthcare #HumanAugmentation #TechForGood #Innovation #Robotics #AI #Biomechanics #HealthcareInnovation #Bionics #SmartProsthetics #Inclusion
Remote bionic hand control demo from BrainCo at WAIC 2026! Your body in China, robotic hand working in America — all powered by real-time myoelectric muscle signals. Pure sci-fi turned reality. The game-changing part? Latency is so low that theoretically, your physical body could stay in China while this robotic hand operates thousands of miles away in the US via remote myoelectric control. This breakthrough embodied AI blurs the line between humans and machines, just like the sci-fi gadgets . Imagine the life-changing potential for people with limb loss, remote industrial operations, and immersive telepresence. #WAIC2026 #BrainCo #EmbodiedAI #MyoelectricControl #BionicTech FutureHumanTech
