Taking a break from the more serious posts for a bit of a giggle. I remember being made to take extremely limited portions of food throughout the week and still worrying about whether we would all have enough to eat on leftover day. I remember noticing that there was no security camera/monitoring system, no phone that we could easily access in case of emergencies. I remember spending hours on my hands and knees with a rag (sometimes a toothbrush) to scrub the floors because we didn’t have a mop. I remember refusing to drink the water because of how dirty it was and after about a month of constipation caused by dehydration, I was finally taken seriously - at least seriously enough so that I could keep hiking. The therapist notes read, “Complained about stomachache, feet being cold - received medical attention. Said she was unappreciated, but that didn’t make any sense. Holding the group back but wants group to pity her. Tears, feeling sorry for herself. Waits to complete chores until the end.
