#gude #breithorn Mit einer Höhe von 4.164 m gilt das Breithorn als einer der am leichtesten zu besteigenden 4000er Gipfeln und ist damit perfekt geeignet für den Einstieg in hochalpines Gelände. Der weitestgehend vergletscherte Bergkamm erstreckt sich über vier Kilometer und insgesamt fünf Gipfel und befindet sich in den Walliser Alpen direkt an der Grenze zur italienischen Region #aosta Von #zermatt aus geht es zunächst mit der Seilbahn auf die höchstgelegene Bahnstation Europas am 3.883 m hohen Kleinmatterhorn von wo aus sich nicht nur ein prächtiger Blick auf die beeindruckende Nordwand und den Gipfel des Breithorn bietet, sondern auch auf das ikonische #matterhorn sowie zahlreiche weitere beeindruckende #gipfel der #alpen Von der Bahnstation aus verläuft die Tour erstmal leicht bergab über das Breithornplateau entlang der höchstgelegenen Skipiste Europas, um so die Gletscherspalten im oberen Bereich des Kleinmatterhorngletschers zu umgehen. Da der Berg ganzjährig begangen werden kann, sind fast immer Spuren vorhanden, denen man von der Skipiste ostwärts über den Breithornpass auf die Ostflanke des Berges folgen kann. Ab dort geht es dann zunehmend steiler über die Südflanke und nach mehreren Kehren entlang der Falllinie des Gipfels. Schließlich erreichen wir über einen relativ schmalen, aber auch flachen Firngrat endlich den Hauptgipfel. Am höchsten Punkt angekommen, bietet sich ein beeindruckendes #bergpanorama mit Blick auf insgesamt 38 Gipfel mit über 4000 Metern Höhe, darunter auch einige der #7alpensummits wie die #dufourspitze sowie der #granparadiso und der #montblanc Für jeden, der gerne mal hochalpine Luft schnuppern oder seinen ersten 4000er bezwingen möchte, bietet das Breithorn eine vergleichsweise einfache, aber trotzdem erlebnisreiche #bergtour, die mit einem atemberaubenden #ausblick belohnt wird. A short alpine climb compared to the Himalayas but still very cold today 😅. It was very special to share the Alps with climbers who spend so much of their lives guiding in the high Himalaya 😍. Sherpa friends arrived in Zermatt 🇳🇵🇨🇭 All four are IFMGA mountain guides from Nepal. Between them they have summited Everest 21 times and climbed many of the world’s highest mountains! 🏔️🔥 This morning we went for a quick winter ascent of Breithorn from Klein Matterhorn. A short alpine climb compared to the Himalayas but still very cold today 😅. It was very special to share the Alps with climbers who spend so much of their lives guiding in the high Himalaya 😍. Huge respect to these incredible mountaineers! 🫡 A big thank you to Basecamp Hotel @basecampzermatt for the warm welcome and to @mountainshop.zermatt for sorting out the gear 🤩. Quality time in the Alps🤞🏼 @oskarnormelli and I had some time over and went for a quick lap on the Breithorn Half-Traverse. Oskar and I always go big, chasing huge summits, goals and dreams, it was nice to dial it back a bit, and just go out into the mountains for the pure fun of it, here's to many more of those days🍻🙏🏼 However, In just 2 months we hope to be standing on yet another Himalayan summit together, stay tuned🗿 #7000m #skimountaineering #breithorn #mountains #alpinsim #alpineclimbing #zermattmatterhorn #matterhorn #climbing
