If you think Dave knows his memes…🙄😆 The you can believe he knows his plants even better. This week, Dave is breaking down rare terrarium plants, including a carnivorous bromeliad, to help introduce you to the dark, mossy, leafy, and sometimes insect-eating world of terrarium plants. Most of these species prefer to be kept well-watered and in high humidity containments, though some care needs vary. And uh…make sure they don’t come out the carpet? Let us know what your favorite of these plants is and if you have any questions about carnivorous plants, tropical plants, or rare plants! BROMELIAS PROLIFERAM A DENGUE. VERDADE OU MITO? . Conta pra mim? Grande abraço! Vídeos: thanks to @floridabromeliads #plants #plantas #curiosidades #jardim #garden #jardinagem #paisagismo #bromeliad

Check out how fast our team can assemble a bromeliad tree. 😉 This “tree” at @smithsoniannmnh is comprised of over 100 bromeliads that mimic garland and ornaments through their different colors and shapes. Strands of moss have been added in between the planters to complete the look. O (bromeliad) tree! O (bromeliad) tree! How lovely are your sword-like waxy leaves. 💚 Our @SmithsonianGardens team assembled this holiday “tree” at our @SmithsonianNMNH. It’s comprised of over 100 bromeliads (Bromeliad genera) that mimic garland and ornaments through their different colors and shapes. Strands of moss have been added between the planters. Bromeliads do more than make a space festive—they help increase biodiversity in our ecosystems. The leaf arrangement of most bromeliads creates a funnel-shaped reservoir or “tank.” The water and debris in this tank invite the growth of algae, fungi, and microorganisms, which feed insect larvae and other invertebrates, such as snails, spiders, worms, and tiny crabs. #SmithsonianGardens #HolidaySeason #Bromeliads
