#Bulrush seedheads - sort of mesmerising the way they expand!
Out looking for wild food for my stint in the @wildbiomeproject. No snow here - just flurries of Bulrush seeds!

Now this is a puzzling plant! 🌿 Sadly, because it is not easily identified, little is known about the life history of northeastern bulrush. It’s range is from New Hampshire to Virginia and West Virginia.

A transition video from a recent public pond overhaul.
This public pond in Langdon Park, Teddington was full of litter and logs as well as being choked with various aquatic vegetation. The liner on one side had also come loose so we pegged this back, repaired some holes and covered the area with top soil. The water level is currently very low but with some heavy rainfall in the future it will hopefully fill back up and maintain its level better.
We received so many positive comments from the park users who were pleased to see it being looked after. Despite the hot temperatures, it was an absolute please to do.

I absolutely love creating three dimensional sculpture made from two dimensional panels. I have loved the work of Micheal Craig-Martin for many years now and found his sculptural drawing such a huge inspiration. If you don’t know his work you must check it out!
I really enjoyed making this sculpture (I had been walking past a bunch of rushes regularly and every time I passed them I would think to myself ‘I must create a bulrush drawing’) the only issue is there extremely long and thin structure are actually a nightmare to turn into a cut out!
