Benefits of RDLs with a resistance band around the hips ✨
🤎 Max glute activation
The band pulls your hips backward, forcing you to drive them forward at the top. This increases glute engagement and improves lockout strength.
🤎 Teaches a proper hip hinge
Perfect for learning how to hinge without squatting the movement. The band instantly lets you know if you’re doing it right.
🤎 More hamstring tension
The band keeps constant tension through the entire range of motion, especially in the stretch. Great for building long, strong hamstrings.
🤎 Lower back friendly
Encourages neutral spine positioning and keeps you from turning the movement into a back lift.
🤎 Improves balance & stability
Your core has to work harder to resist the band pulling you back, which carries over to other lifts and everyday movement.
🤎 Better mind-muscle connection
Slower tempo + band tension = more awareness in the glutes instead of yanking the weight.

Stop guessing which cable exercises actually build the upper glutes.
If the leg is driving out to the side, you’re in a hip abduction pattern.
That’s glute med. That’s the upper outer shelf.
The part most people miss is the return.
Letting the leg slightly cross the midline before driving back out keeps tension where it belongs and stops it from turning into a straight kickback.
Side lying or standing doesn’t change the target.
Leg path, control, and pelvic position do.
Save this if you want glute training to be intentional, not random. 🍑💪🏽
If you have this pull-up machine at your gym, try this variation and tell me how you feel about it 👀🍑
Truly one of my favorite glute exercises.
The extended range of motion makes allll the difference.
When you train a muscle through a deeper stretch (while staying controlled), you:
• Recruit more muscle fibers
• Create more mechanical tension (aka a key driver of growth)
• Improve mobility + strength at the same time
• Build strength in the lengthened position — which is where glutes are often weakest
Instead of just squeezing at the top, focus on:
Slow control on the way down
Letting the hips fully hinge
Driving through your heel
And finishing with a strong, intentional lockout
More range. More control. More results.

Try these 4 game-changing hacks to target your upper shelf + grow your glutes fast:
1️⃣ Add pads to maximize range of motion (ROM) and fully stretch the abductors.
2️⃣ Press down with your toes to stabilize your hips and activate the glutes.
3️⃣ Keep your chest and chin up. Avoid rounding forward or tucking your pelvis!
4️⃣ Use a resistance band around your torso to improve posture, stabilize your core, and maximize glute engagement.

Don’t sleep on these 👊🏽🍑
Cable RDLs. A controlled stretch, constant tension and glutes that stay loaded the entire time.

❌ Stop Thrusting with Your Heels. ❌
Here’s Why.
If you’re still pressing through your heels during hip thrusts, you’re likely building dense quads.
Or a thick waist…
Or both.
Not the round, lifted glutes you’re after. 😬
Here’s what you actually need:
➡️ Press through your TOES
➡️ Let your knees gently point inward (foam roller hack! internal hip rotation for bigger stretch)
➡️ Think “backflip energy” at the top — FULL hip extension
➡️ Keep a neutral spine (NO chin tucks, NO scooping)
Glute growth is a science.
Save this post — your glutes will thank you later.

If you feel pain or tension in your low back while performing cable glute kickbacks, here are a few tips to fix your form for maximum results:
1️⃣ Hinge slightly forward
Soft bend in the standing leg. Ribs down, core braced.
2️⃣ Lock your spine in neutral
No arching. If your low back is moving, your glutes aren’t working.
3️⃣ Kick back, not up
Think long and straight, not high. Height ≠ glute activation.
4️⃣ Slow the rep down
Control the kick and the return. Momentum = back strain.
5️⃣ Squeeze, then reset
Pause for a second at the top, then fully reset before the next rep.
If your glutes aren’t burning… your form needs attention, not more weight.

TECHNIQUE WITH TASHY 💕
RDL ≠ just bending over with weights.
You guys loved the last one… so here’s another 👀
Think:
• Soft knees
• Stay still through the legs
• Drop the chest down
Initiate with the glutes
Think about squeezing a coin in ya butt cheeks on the way up 🍑
Lats strong, abs strong
DBs/Bar stays close, tension stays on the hammies/glutes, not the lower back.
If you feel this more in your back than your glutes… adjust your setup or even send me a video - I got you 🩷
Give it a go & tell me how it feels 💕
Save for later💚
This is your sign to stop doing random workouts and start training with intention 💭💪🏽
The cable squat to face pull is one of those sneaky-effective moves that looks simple… but works EVERYTHING 😮💨🔥
As you sit into the squat, your glutes + quads are firing 🍑
As you pull the rope back, your upper back + rear delts light up 🔥
And the entire time? Your core stays engaged to keep you stable, strong, and supported ✨
One movement.
Multiple muscle groups.
Smarter results.
This is how you build a strong, sculpted, balanced body without spending hours in the gym 💚
Slow, controlled reps > heavy weight
Mind-muscle connection = real progress

SAVE THIS!
For all the times you claim you glutes are asleep
I think the crazier you look getting into a setup, the better the burn 🤣🤣🤣
I liked this set up because it’s a great way to get a heavier weight in (especially with the kickbacks) without feeling any pressure on your back! It’s a pain getting into it, but once you get it, it feels good
Saw this variation on @bretcontreras1 page, so I had to try it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Cable pull-through is a great alternative for hip thrusts when
• hip thrusts feel uncomfortable
• you don’t have the setup
• you want a pure hinge & glute-focused movement
‼️Because pull-throughs are harder to load heavy compared to hip thrusts, higher reps work better.
Think 12–20 reps, slow and controlled.
This exercise teaches proper hip hinging, keeps constant tension on the glutes, and still supports glute growth when done with intention.
