🤎🐮 Have you ever fed a Highland cow?
If not, you’re missing out! We visited Trossachs Woollen Mill in Callander today and got to hand-feed their three super-friendly Highland cows – who get very excited as soon as they spot your £1 bag of food!
📖 Fun fact: Highland cows are one of the oldest registered cattle breeds in the world and their long, shaggy coats help them stay warm through Scotland’s wild winters ❄️.
After feeding time, we enjoyed a stop at the on-site café, browsed the Scottish gift shops, and made the most of the free parking and clean toilets (always a win with kids in tow!).
📍 This is such a wholesome family stop in Callander – gentle coos, gorgeous countryside views, and everything you need in one place. An absolute must if you’re exploring the area! Thanks @whatsonforthekids for the recommendation!
Scotland has lots of amazing towns and villages and Callander should definitely be added to your list this winter! Check out the waterfalls on the Bracklin Falls, wonder around the main street and try a pie. You can also visit a fully dedicated Christmas shop!

There’s a fantastic walk to explore some of Scotlands best scenery from Open countrysides to woodland walk and even a magical loch.
The route will take you on a 2hr adventure following several smaller trails and a nice week break at Brig O’ Turk Tearooms @brigoturktearoom . (Make sure to check opening times)

Recently me and Lil Rob went to recce my New Years Day WILD Walk route here in Scotland. This low level walk is one of my favourites in the area, heading up from the vibrant town of Callander to the crags that overlook Ben Ledi, Loch Lubnaig and beyond.
In just 6 miles the route offers epic mountain panoramas, riverside trails, ancient Scots pines, forest tracks, and the stunning Bracklinn Falls. Oh, and coffee with cake at the end!
I'll be continuting my long-held tradition of hosting a WILD Walk on New Years Day for those who want to kick off the year with an adventure. We hope to welcome you along this coming New Years Day!
