The Fish Hopper If you’re looking for the best restaurant on Cannery Row, you found it! We love the Fish Hopper! The service is excellent, views are incredible, and the food is delicious! We personally love the to go bread bowl. With two squirmy kids, it’s hard for us to sit down in a restaurant so we love that we can quickly grab food, sit by the water, and have dinner. 🇺🇸 If you are a military family and dining in, make sure to tell them! You’ll receive a complementary appetizer and dessert with your purchase of entrée. Cannery Row by John Steinbeck ✨️ It took me a while to choose which Steinbeck novel I wanted to read alongside Steinbeck: A Life in Letters. But Cannery Row was the one I decided on. 📗 The beginning was a bit slow, and it took me a while to get into the story, but now things are starting to pick up! One of the things that pulls on my heartsrings is the fact that Steinbeck dedicated Cannery Row to one of his best friends, Ed Ricketts, in the early years of their friendship. I recently just got done reading the sections in his letters where he was talking about the heartbreaking death of Ricketts due to being hit by a train in his car. 🥺 His death deeply affected Steinbeck, and that year was one the most difficult that he experienced.
