Here’s a bit of ASMR that is sure to take you back to the 1980s. Remember when our cassette players would eat our cassette tapes? We had to carefully remove the tape and then use a pencil to wind the tape back in. This happened to me all the time as a kid in the 80s. They sell and buy new and used records, cassette tapes, turntables, as well as some vintage games and movies. Some of the first turntables I ever practiced on were at my brother @ricky_regretti 's house in 1997! We went to SCPA in San Diego and after school I would get on Rick's bus instead of my own and ride with him into the Encanto neighborhood📍 We were collecting Hip-Hop 12's and LP's - but at the same time we started to learn about tons of other styles and genres. I remember one of homies Calder Tani playing us Portishead "Dummy" way back then and instantly feeling like there was a path for me to contribute to this incredible culture, if I could just get a pair of decks and practice every single day 🙇‍♂️ At that time I was using a single belt driven turntable that my mother bought me for $40 at the flea market plugged into the stereo my big brother Jacob Nissim left me. I would play cassette tapes on my dual cassette boombox while using the volume knob on my brother's receiver to turn the volume up and down of the record of a scratching instead of a Crossfader or a kill switch 🤏🎚️🤏 It was during these humble beginnings that I was able to discern exactly what I wanted to do with my life, and focus all of this wild energy that was pulsing through these veins 💉 20+ years later I'm still grateful for all of the young cats around me that were curious to learn the ways of the vinyl samurai that came before us! 🥷 And im honored that I am still able to share this love of sound, frequency, vibration, and energy with the planet! 🌎🌍🌏
