Beautiful first class of castanets for this group from the Patel Conservatory. It is a pleasure and an honor for me to place in the hands of these children, my beloved instrument: the castanets. It was the first time they saw a castanet and played it, and their emotion was so beautiful. I can't wait to go through this choreography that I'm going to show in May at the Straz Center. . # ngb #nextgenerationballet #strazcenter #straz #irenerodriguez #choreography #choreographer #flamenco #danzaespañola #castañuelas #Castanets #children

TRY (and fail?) to play castanets with me for the first time! Trying to learn Carmen in different ways before covering the title role at l’Opéra de Montréal next May 🥰 Fun fact - my fiancé is Spanish. He’s going to Spain in a week and I’ve made sure he brings me back the REAL DEAL Spanish castanets! 💃 Thank you @szeeeeto for the idea !! 🎶 #opera #mezzosoprano #operasinger #operasingersofinstagram #singfluencer #mezzo #singer #singerofinstagram #operasingerlife #voice #carmen #bizet #castanets

. . #castañuelas #turorial #tutorialdecastañuelas #ole #arte #castanets #IreneRodriguez #flamenco #tampabayflamenco #tampabay #inlove #flamencointampa #flamencoentampa #tampaflamenca #tampaflamenco #aprendeflamenco #instrument #FILIGRANA #filigrana #castan̈uelasfiligrana #danzaespañola #onlinelessons #dancetutorial

#Castanets #Flamenco 💃 Learned castanets in Sevilla My first castanet experience! Right hand: 5–4–3–2–1 one by one Soft the finger open, hard if too tight Wrist rotation = fast & legato Left hand: downbeat (the 3rd finger) Flamenco = total 12 beats No accent on the 1st beat Downbeat comes 2nd or 3rd beat #カスタネット #フラメンコ セビリアで、カスタネットの先生から技術を教えていただきました！

Easy as 1 2 3 ☝️ Here’s a quick tutorial on how to play ruffs on the castanet machine with a “rolling fingers” technique. We’re playing this on one of our Overture Castanet Machines. The tension adjustment knob allows the distance between the cups to be fine tuned–very helpful when you want to find the sweet spot for achieving this roll. This triplet could be referred to as a triple “Glope’” and adding an additional note to this triplet would make it a “Caretilla” or a 4-stroke-ruff if you will. There may be other terms or names for this technique, so drop a comment below if we missed something! #blackswamppercussion #musiclesson #castanets #percussion

🧠🥁 ——— A completely independent rhythmic part between two instruments: 👈 Left hand on the tambourine 👉 Right hand on the castanet This isn’t about practice — it’s about the coordination between the brain and muscles in two contrasting sonic systems.
