Sometimes I will just sit there looking at him because, honestly, he is adorable. And after a few seconds, he starts doing that little squirm. Shifting around, wriggling slightly, suddenly licking his paw or cleaning himself as if he urgently remembered he had something very important to do. I used to think it was just random cat behaviour. But cats are incredibly aware of attention. In the animal world, direct eye contact is intense. A long stare can mean curiosity, challenge, focus, or affection depending on the situation. So when we sit there admiring them close up, they become very aware that all of our attention is suddenly on them. And that funny little squiggle they do is often a way of releasing that tension. Grooming is one of the main ways cats self soothe. When they feel overstimulated, slightly awkward, excited, or unsure what to do with the attention, they will often start licking themselves or shifting around to regulate their emotions. It is a bit like when humans laugh nervously or look away when they become too aware of being perceived. And somehow, that makes it even cuter. Because underneath all that mysterious cat confidence is this tiny little creature getting shy because someone they trust is looking at them with too much love.🩵🥹

I’ve been communicating with animals for over 14 years and these are 5 things which keeps coming up as being MOST HATED by cats . 1. Strong perfumes/floor cleaners/detergents. Crazy numbers of cats have told me how they dislike the string fragrances used to keep the house smell “nice”. And these are usually the reason why cats may fall ill or feel nauseated. Some cats also develop diarrhoea due to the fragrances in the house. 2. No SPIRITUAL CLEANING routine Cats hate stagnant energy. They are usually in a person’s life to bring in play, love and spiritual alignment. Most cats hate it when their humans don’t do any kind of spiritual or religiously chanting, praying or alignment. 3. Alcohol! It may sound bizarre or almost unbelievable but cats hate the smell of alcohol. Yes, they would try to “take care” Of their human when the human is intoxicated but they hate the energy field as it becomes easy for the human to be susceptible to negativity, stagnant enrgies. 4. A lot of cats hate “play fight”. They don’t understand the need to be irritated by their human and get overly stimulated. Some cats have also said they feel threatened when their human starts the rough play. They feel the need to claw, hit back, or hide. None of which make them feel safe. 5. Adopting another animal without informing them. A few cats have told the reason they fight with their new animal is they feel cheated. Suddenly, they are expected to be good to an animal who doesn’t seem to be leaving! Cats love it if you inform them, show them images of the incoming animal and respect their NO to an addition. Cat behaviour researchers call this polyphasic sleep, and it evolved so a hunter could rest without ever going properly off duty.
