Healing didn’t happen how I expected it would. Or in the timeline I wanted. But in God’s timing, He showed me what I needed to do to recover. ❤️‍🩹 There were a lot of ups and downs along the way, and it certainly was not easy—as to be expected. Sometimes I really can’t believe this is the life I’m living now. If you told me this is where I’d be years ago, I’m not sure I would have believed it. But something in me knew there was a reason I needed to keep going. Now I know why. I am so thankful for it all. 🥹 P.S. I have lots of posts, highlights, and youtube videos sharing about my chronic illness healing experience and what helped me the most. Really, it all came back to consistently signaling safety to my nervous system—so my body could do what it was designed to do, which is heal. If you’re in a difficult place right now, there is so much hope. I’m rooting for you always. 🫶🏻

I haven’t posted much about it here, but I stopped posting for a LONG time largely due to my Chiari Malformation. I have really bad tremors in my hands now which made doing my makeup really, really difficult. I could barely do my eyeliner some days. Heck, those days still come up sometimes! I manage it now with my neurologist & things are good! Still shake like a leaf BUT I AM DETERMINED to learn allllllll of the makeup styles even with these shaky hands lol. I think of it as an art form and it’s such a good, healthy outlet for me. I know that my makeup skills are a bit lackluster now but I’m hopeful I’ll improve if I keep at it! Thank you to those of you that have been supportive & poo poo to the person that took time out of their day to tell me my makeup used to look better. I assure you, I’m aware lol Anyways, here’s a reminder that Chiari Malformation exists and affects everyone differently! 💜 . . . . . . . . #chiarimalformation #chiari #makeupartist #mentalhealth #makeuplover

Uma vez feito corretamente o tratamento cirúrgico, a Malformação de Chiari, por si só, não “volta”, pois é uma alteração anatômica da base do crânio com a qual a pessoa já nasce. O que pode acontecer, em alguns casos, é o reaparecimento dos sintomas meses ou anos após a cirurgia. Isso ocorre quando há uma nova obstrução da circulação do líquor — o fluido que banha o cérebro e a medula — ou quando a descompressão realizada na cirurgia deixa de ser suficiente com o tempo. Pense na cirurgia como abrir uma passagem para que a água volte a circular livremente em um encanamento estreito. Se essa passagem voltar a se estreitar, a pressão aumenta novamente e os sintomas podem retornar. Since she is apart of the Greater Lakewood Pageantry, she decided for her project to do a toy 🧸 drive for the children admitted to CHOC hospital. I have so many complicated feelings about my surgery. On one hand, I’m super glad I got it because if I didn’t who knows how bad I’d be now. On the other hand the surgery’s themselves and the horrific recovery I had triggered a laundry list of other problems which I now have for life. So… yer.
