#SmarterInSeconds: #CodeSwitching with Artist @crsh.187 and Activist @edenxluna for @everydayracism_ ⭐️ Code-Switching is a skill and it’s time we stop apologizing for doing it! In this video I’m wearing my collection from @fempowerbeauty, #SmarterLipSets in Access with @edenxluna wearing Self to remind us all that you are your authentic self whether you’re code-switching or not! Almost everyone code switches but our reasons may be different. Code-switching is the shift from one language or style of speaking to another, depending on the social context or setting. This is a common phenomenon among individuals who are bilingual, multilingual or who straddle multiple cultural or social contexts. For example: Talking to your professors or employers in one way and your friends in another. However, why someone does it depends on them and is ultimately personal. It may be for comfort, out of habit, or to avoid discrimination, xenophobia, classism and more. 💭 Whether it’s within the same language or to another language, do you code-switch? 💭Have you experienced anyone code-switching around you? 💭Did you learn anything new? 🗣️Chime in below!
