The collage challenge is almost at an end. It was great fun — a bit out of the box, full of new tricks and handy tips. I met some lovely people in the group and really enjoyed admiring everyone’s work. Now it’s time to move back to my mosaics and focus on finishing my upcoming online mosaic course. My sketchbook is full….Back to broken tiles… feels like a collage but in a different although definitely family in my opinion . 'Pattern Play' is the first excersise in @catrains.artist Collage Breakthrough course. Using only one patterned and one 'quiet' paper in each grid section, making sure there is balance between all 9. I really enjoyed this! I also enjoyed using more of my new colour palette collage papers too! We were advised to use just warm or just cool colours, but i snuck in some gorgeous orange-red with some book script!!🤗🥰 #collagebreakthrough #catrainsartist #collageartist #mixedmediaart #hertsvisualarts

I am finding inspiration in January’s low lights, subtle colours , the deep yellow skies of winter… a winter poem. the yellow one has that dull quiet yellow against slate grey, I got to use my more subtle gelli papers. The bottom of the kimono, is slightly ruffled, and has a few hidden gems there. I was asked yesterday how do I know?? I trust ……………I can find that balance , that is aesthetically delicious for me…. That is enough. Finding a Collage Voice Through Inspiration Lesson 3 of Collage Breakthrough hosted by @catrains.artist was to create a mini series of 4x4 inches using only scrap papers left over from Lesson One and Two. Papers were to be different sizes, 3 pieces to include one light, one medium, and one dark value, as well as patterned and quiet papers. Going Out to left field: the polka dots and the foothills and clouds were a response to the scraps found and their shapes. Flower or Candles and the Almost monochromatic follows the guidelines for Lesson 3 Lesson Four — Full Circle 5" x 5" Collage using scrap papers cut into many shapes and sizes, both quiet and patterned, light, medium, and dark. Optional was to add finishing touch papers. Inspiration for Lesson 4 was rifting from a Quilt Block Template. used Teabags, cyanotype teabags, and various created papers were used. #lzbthcreative #collagebreakthrough #mixedmediaartstyle
