I can’t believe my face is in Ulta Beauty stores nationwide… It took me two weeks to post this video because of how overwhelmed I felt while editing and how nervous I felt that I have reached some career peak that I won’t be able to match or surpass. The self-doubt just kept flooding. Being a model has always felt so contradictory to who I am as a person and how I see myself, but I started this career for one reason: my family. I feel such immense honor as a petite model for every opportunity I have, because it can truly be so difficult for us shorties, especially my fellow curvy ones. I never would have guessed that the casting that I was almost late to because my 4 train was stuck at Union Square forcing me to hop into a last minute Uber, would have led me almost a year later to find myself inside Ulta Beauty as the face of one of the biggest and most innovate beauty brands in the world. I used to joke that my marker of success as a model would be seeing my face in Ulta or Sephora, and once that dream became a reality I would retire. But truthfully having accomplished this dream so early in my modeling career has given me more motivation than ever to keep at this just a little while longer. Thank you again to the teams at @collectivecasting, @herocosmetics and @ultabeauty. You made the little girl in me sob while I edited this video and my little cousin speechless when she saw her big cousin in her mommy’s favorite store. Thank you.
