Hi! These are all my totals every month from Vgen after tax. Any artist wanting to do commissions I can give tips and advice! I highly suggest using vgen and it may seem hard to get a code but I can also help you and tell you how to get one! I have a different job on the side but I do commissions on my free time so I’m not full time but I’m def not part time lol. Good luck to every artist on future and current commission!!! Ofc if you wanna commission me you can go to the link in my bio :3 Im gonna open a lot of services Ive had closed for a while very soon!! • • • #vgen #vgencommissions #commissions #artist #art

✨ Don't under sell yourself: Your price isn’t just for the final image, it's for your years of practice, tools, your style, your problem solving skills, your revisions, your time If someone can’t afford it, that doesn’t mean it’s overpriced, it just means it’s not within their budget. ✨ Always ask for some sort of payment upfront: A deposit protects your time and filters serious clients from possible scams. You’re reserving space in your schedule. That’s valuable. Don't start working until that payment has been processed ✨ It’s okay to enforce your terms: Your commission sheet, contract, or TOS exists for a reason. Revision limits, deadlines, usage rights, etc. These aren’t barriers. They create clarity and prevent resentment on both sides. ✨ You don't own explanations to people you don't want to work with: If a project isn’t aligned with your style, your schedule, or your values, you don’t owe a long apology paragraph. A simple, respectful "I appreciate your interest, but no." is enough. Protecting your energy protects your work. ✨ It’s okay to rest without guilt: Burnout doesn’t make you more productive. Taking breaks doesn’t make you lazy. You are a person before you are a creativity machine (even though we all want to be 🥀) ✨ Always keep some money stashed away before you finish a commission Accidents can happen. You may become unable to finish a commission for whatever reason, so always have a little bit stashed away in order to be able to give a full or partial refund to your clients. It's better to not be able to use the money than to destroy your reputation for not fulfilling your obligations Boundaries and safeguards don’t make you difficult. They make your art career sustainable. #commissions #artist #vgen #commissionartist #illustration
