Anyway recap
The aesthetic commonplace journal is a trap. 🙅♀️☕️
If you have a pile of beautiful, empty notebooks sitting on your desk because you’re terrified of “ruining” them with a messy thought... this is your permission to stop. The historical standard for genius wasn’t a perfectly color-coded spread; it was a Zibaldone (literally: a heap of things).
Da Vinci put his grocery lists next to anatomy sketches. You are allowed to put your random cafe observations right next to your to-do list and your rough drafts.
Use a physical notebook as a trash can for your brain to capture ideas on the go, and organize them in Obsidian later.
Go ruin the first page of a notebook today.

This is your sign to start a commonplace journal in 2026 💭🌱
One of my goals for 2026 is to fill up a commonplace journal, and I am very very determined to make that happen ;D
If you don’t know what a commonplace journal is, I just posted a more in-depth explanation yesterday for your reference! It’s such a unique way to journal, and I can’t wait to get started :3

📚 Last week I went to a lecture on Medusa - why she keeps being reimagined across the centuries.
🤔 The lecturer opened with the etymology of the word monster. From the Latin: to warn, to show. A monster isn’t just frightening - it’s a sign. It reveals what a culture is most afraid of.
✍️ I came home and immediately fell down a rabbit hole starting with the oldest monsters we know.
