what’s a commonplace book? 📖
— a commonplace book is a form of journalling where we collect passages, text, images. we organise these thoughts and pieces of information in categories, so that they serve as a memory aid or for future references. commonplace books are about recording things you find interesting, whether it be quotes, information, other people’s thoughts etc.
you can find lots of information about commonplace books on the internet in article and video form which can probably explain the concept better than i can! 🤍

Commonplace journal 📒🧤💭

My A5 journal from @createwithpen is a mixture of journalling, memory keeping, and a commonplace notebook. Every month I wonder whether I will have anything to fill the pages with, and every month I am surprised at how quickly they add up!

I posted this over on my TikTok where I post process videos of all of my journal entries (l have a link to my TikTok in my bio), but I figured it would be helpful to share this here too! It’s an in-depth look at how I set up my commonplace entries. 🤎 #journaling #journal #commonplacebook #commonplace #journalinspiration
So, what’s actually a commonplace journal?
Day 74 here and a commonplace journal is a journal to keep all of the things in category. I use 5 categories: research related, courses, favorite places, brain dump, and reviews (movies, books, etc). I differentiate them by color stickers. I also use my hobonichi weeks for it 🥰

now i have place write all the good words i found on social media that left and being dusted in my bookmark tab, ideas that usually popped up at the most random time of the day, and many many more 🤍
