โšก CPU CACHE HIT vs CACHE MISS โ€” WHY A TINY CACHE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE! Your CPU constantly needs data. The trick is to keep frequently used data as close to the CPU as possible. ๐ŸŸข CACHE HIT โ†’ The requested data is found in the cache level being checked, so the CPU can access it much faster than going to DRAM. ๐Ÿ”ด CACHE MISS โ†’ The data isnโ€™t found at that level, so the processor checks deeper cache levelsโ€”and an LLC miss may ultimately require DRAM access, adding significantly more latency. ๐Ÿง  THE PART MANY PEOPLE MISS A cache miss doesnโ€™t always mean โ€œgo straight to RAM.โ€ The CPU typically searches through its cache hierarchy: L1 โ†’ L2 โ†’ L3/LLC โ†’ DRAM So an L1 miss can still be an L2 or L3 hit. Only when the relevant cache levels miss does the request need to go to main memory. ๐Ÿ”ฅ And thatโ€™s why cache size alone doesnโ€™t determine CPU performance. Cache latency, cache design, data locality, prefetching, workload and overall CPU architecture all matter. Modern processors can also have very different cache hierarchies. ๐Ÿ’ก EASY WAY TO REMEMBER ๐Ÿ  L1 = desk drawer โ†’ tiny & very fast ๐Ÿ—„๏ธ L2 = nearby cabinet โ†’ larger, slower ๐Ÿ“ฆ L3/LLC = bigger storage room โ†’ larger, slower ๐Ÿข RAM = another building โ†’ much farther away Cache hit = โ€œFound it!โ€ โœ… Cache miss = โ€œKeep lookingโ€ฆโ€ ๐Ÿ”Ž ๐Ÿ“Œ Save this post if youโ€™re learning CPU architecture, programming or computer hardware! Would you rather have a CPU with more cache or a higher clock speed? ๐Ÿ‘‡ #CPUCache #ComputerArchitecture #CPUPerformance #TechEducation #ComputerScience

โ€‹๐Ÿ’ป Removing a processor badge from a gaming laptop definitely shouldn't cause a total system shutdown, but this viral clip proves that timing is everything in tech humor. While peeling off AMD or NVIDIA laptop stickers only affects aesthetics and resale value, the instant screen crash creates the ultimate comedy moment. โ€‹In reality, tech badges are just adhesive vinyl markers for branding, leaving your CPU and GPU completely unaffected underneath. Still, this clip is a hilarious warning for anyone obsessed with keeping their laptop clean. This is the home office of Linus Torvalds, the creator of the Linux kernel and Gitโ€”two inventions that revolutionized open-source software, software engineering, and modern computing. Despite Linux powering much of the worldโ€™s cloud infrastructure, web servers, Android, supercomputers, and internet infrastructure, Torvalds works from a remarkably simple setup: a slow walking desk he calls his โ€œzombie shuffling desk,โ€ a web browser, a few terminal windows, and years of accumulated hardware. Torvalds says he isnโ€™t sentimental about technology. His office is filled with old hard drives, outdated computer hardware, scuba gear, and Tux penguins, reflecting a mindset centered on practical engineering rather than expensive gadgets. Itโ€™s a fitting workspace for the programmer whose work continues to power billions of devices and the version control system (Git) used daily by developers on GitHub and across the software industry. ๐Ÿš€ AND Gate โ€“ The Foundation of Digital Electronics! ๐Ÿ’กโšก The AND Gate is one of the fundamental logic gates used in digital electronics. ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ It follows a simple rule: the output becomes HIGH (1) โœ… only when both inputs are HIGH (1). More than a product. A system. ComputerKIT is built from recovered computer hardware, so no two runs ever come out the same. Instead of hiding that, it becomes the design language. Every machine carries the identity of the parts it was built from. One system, one logic, never a single fixed form. Honest about what itโ€™s made of, specific to where it came from. A few of them, here. #computerkit #circulardesign #industrialdesign

โš ๏ธ A USB Drive That Can Destroy Your Computer in Seconds At first glance, it looks like an ordinary USB flash drive. But a USB Killer is built with a completely different purpose. Instead of transferring files or installing software, it rapidly charges internal capacitors using power from the USB port, then releases a high-voltage electrical surge back into the device. That surge can overwhelm sensitive electronic components, potentially damaging the motherboard, USB controller, and other critical hardware almost instantly. Unlike malware, a USB Killer attacks the hardware itself rather than the operating system. While these devices are legitimately used by hardware manufacturers and security professionals to test how well computers withstand electrical surges, they can also be misused to intentionally destroy electronic equipment. It is a powerful reminder that not every cybersecurity threat comes through the internet. Sometimes the greatest risk is a device that appears completely harmless. The safest habit is also the simplest. Never connect an unknown USB device to your computer, phone, or other valuable electronics unless you trust its source. A few seconds of curiosity could result in permanent hardware damage and costly repairs. Have you ever come across a piece of technology that looked harmless but worked in a completely unexpected way? ๐Ÿ”’ Follow @quorra.tech for more technology insights and future trends.
