Famous person's home = Famous bin! Congleton is not exactly a thriving metropolis of A-listers, but over the years several famous people have called it home - including journeyman footballer Daniel Strurridge and the blonde barmaid from Coronation Street everybody claims to have seen in Tescos. But in Victorian times, Congleton was a mecca for the great and the good. One notable resident was the outstanding force-for-good, Elizabeth Wolstenholme-Elmy - and in front of where she used to live on Buxton Road is a once duck-egg plastic receptacle, unassumingly and dutifully doing it's thing.

April's back, mingling with the families of Congleton and beyond! The Congleton Market Quarter is set to open in just over a weeks time, we're buzzing with excitement for it to become a haven for the whole family – pooches included! 🐾 Imagine a laid-back spot where you can savour great value, adventurous food and drink, all without the fuss of a formal meal. 🍽️ We're championing eight passionately independent vendors, each bringing their own unique flavour to the table! We can't promise, however, that it's going to beat running around with dinosaurs or soft play. That's a tough ask. 🦕✨

@capitalwalk 👋👋 Concepts like Mackie Mayor & Picturedrome are popping up in most cities & towns now, Congleton being the latest to jump on board. Located at the top end of town on the high street, @capitalwalk is a converted old shopping arcade with 13 small restaurants and bars taking up residence. With tables and chairs located in the walkway & upstairs, you just scan the QR code on the table and order from any of the vendors …and it’s all brought to your table.
