The warrior of the Iconic Lions coalition the Black rock boys “Oloshipa” also known as Orpandan a born fighter and hunter! Born in 2017 in the renowned Black rock pride of the Masai mara reserve,he is the son of the old Black rock male Orkini,his twin brother was the famous Lorkulup that we lost earlier this year. Oloshipa together with the gallant Oloimina are still fiercely dominating the famous Rongai pride,they have been imposing their law here for 4 years,recently the area was victim of a big fire,luckily the ecosystem will recover soon. Never in a million years, did I think I would not only be able to meet a Rhino in Africa, but feed him and give him love! This truly was beyond my wildest dreams and one of the best moments of my life and in Africa. Meet Baruka ( my new best friend ) which means Blessed in Swahili . What a pure angelic soul. This baby is found in the conservancy ol pejeta in Kenya , Africa. I was in awe of his beauty and still am in shock that we were given this wonderful experience. He became blind in both eyes one from a fight and the other eye from disease , so he could not be returned to the wild, but he lives on this conservancy ( which is basically the wild just has some wires to keep him safe) living his best life and getting so much love from humans. I’m in love with this perfect angel and meeting him was truly one of the biggest highlights of my life! #africa #safari #blackrhino #baruka #conservancy

Coccobbello 🦀 Coconut crabs, known locally as 'ketam kenari", are Indonesia's giant, terrestrial hermit crabs, found on islands like Raja Ampat and Wakatobi, notable for their immense size, nocturnal habits, powerful claws that crack coconuts, and conservation status as vulnerable due to hunting, with national regulations protecting them and key part of island ecosystems. These unique arthropods, the world's largest land-living, develop lungs for land life and can live decades, but face threats from habitat loss and overharvesting, leading to conservation efforts. 🦀 . We are thrilled to share this footage, captured by the monitoring team at Tusk partner The Pangolin Project of a very tiny Giant Ground Pangolin pup. 📷 This footage was taken on a parcel of land that is now leased for conservation within Kimintet Conservancy and is part of the largest contiguous area under lease. Risks do still loom large (all four of Africa’s pangolin species are classified vulnerable) but the project team are ramping up efforts - increasing surveillance, ranger fence patrols, and close monitoring - to give this pangolin pup a fighting chance. Today on Earth Day, I am partnering with The Nature Conservancy to highlight how young adults have joined the efforts to help restore coastal environments from environmental disasters like the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill back in 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico. GulfCorps, a project of The Nature Conservancy and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are aiming to create jobs for hundreds of young adults along the Gulf of Mexico to restore the natural features and habitats on critical conservation lands. It is incredible to see young people being paid to look after these beautiful lands, whilst learning important conservation and restoration skills. Shoutout to the GulfCorps, @nature_org, and all the young changemakers who are creating a more sustainable future.
