I’m not bored with slowness. I find attuned connectedness in CI so beautiful. To watch and to feel. This practice heals me 🥹 thank you @dasii0 for always feeling safe to explore on/with #contactimprov #contactimprovisation #attunement #slowness #embodimentpractice
I started contact improvisation as a dance practice. Over time it became something much bigger. A way of listening. A way of relating. A way of meeting the moment. What began as movement slowly became a practice for life. #embodiment #contactimprovisation #movement
Contact improvisation is about learning to trust moving through hesitation, fear, and uncertainty by physically supporting and listening to one another. In a world that can feel disconnected, this practice creates real moments of connection, presence, and shared humanity. Join us in the Art of Living series (link in bio) and cultivate skills that deepen how you relate, move, and live both with yourself and with others. I love you *voiceover inspired by A Plea by Flea #contactimprovisation #contactimprov #theartofliving #artoflivingci #denvercontactimprov

Many people still don’t know about the welcoming international practice (and community!) of Contact Improvisation — and honestly, we think that should change ✨ Because for many adults, especially those who don’t identify as “dance people,” this can be one of the most unexpectedly welcoming ways into movement! Contact Improvisation began in the United States in the 1970s through the work of Steve Paxton. It grew out of postmodern dance, while also drawing strong influence from aikido and somatic practices. It explores what happens when two or more bodies relate through touch, shared weight, listening, gravity, and momentum. There are no fixed steps to memorize and no pressure to perform. Just attention, responsiveness, and curiosity — along with the strange little magic of discovering how much intelligence the body already has 🤍 People come to CI from everywhere: dancers, actors, therapists, complete beginners, and people simply seeking a different relationship with movement and contact. It is experimental, playful, sometimes quiet, sometimes wild — and always about learning to sense before attempting to control. THE ART OF LIVING - CONTACT IMPROVISATION SERIES In Denver, CO A 4-week contact improvisation series Contact improv is a quiet kind of courage It is the most vulnerable, honest and worthwhile practice I’ve ever done! That’s why I call it the Art of Living! We are saying with our bodies here, take my center, I need you Through touch, we remember we’re not separate. We listen. We care. We change, together. In this series, we’ll learn the foundations of this beautiful practice, not just to dance, but to live with more presence, trust, and connection. We’ll explore awareness, inclusivity, and shared sensitivity. We’ll also play with power, letting “power over” be seen without shame or guilt, and softening into power with, within, and as. This community went from a couple of people to hundreds strong! Come join us! The shared language, the trust, the depth we’ve cultivated together. This is community! I’m so grateful to dance with you all! 🗓 April 22 – May 13🕕 Wednesdays 6:15–8:45pm📍 WiggleRuHm, 125 S Sherman st Denver, CO ✨ 5 partial scholarships available (with 2 free classes) REACH out if cost is a barrier Come as you are.
