MSC Sonia in the Port of Abidjan 🏗🚢 🇨🇮 Earlier this month, the second container terminal of the Port of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire was inaugurated. We were pleased to attend the formal ceremony, and we also got the opportunity to record this timelapse of the 13.2K TEU MSC Sonia as she arrived in the port. At MSC, we’ve been supporting customers to ship goods to and from Africa since 1970. Our presence in Africa, with 81 MSC agencies across the continent, has enabled us to become the supply chain partner of choice for importers and exporters. @cwitsrilanka has become the fastest terminal in the Port of Colombo’s history to handle 2 million TEUs in just 18 months. The terminal’s Phase II commercial operation was inaugurated by Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister, Dr. @hariniamarasuriya , which will double the capacity from 1.6 million to 3.2 million TEUs with a total investment of USD 750 million. This expansion further strengthens Colombo’s position as a key transshipment hub on the East-West trade route and supports the Port of Colombo’s ambition to reach 13 million TEUs of capacity by 2028. Built through the partnership of APSEZ, @lifeatjkh , and the @srilankaportsauthority, @cwitsrilanka is Sri Lanka’s first fully automated deep-water container terminal and a catalyst for regional trade growth.
