How do squirrels glide without wings? 🐿️🪽 Meet Buzz and Aldrin, two southern flying squirrels who travel the treetops with ease. A stretchy flap of skin between their limbs helps them glide, while their tails act like rudders—letting them steer over 150 feet through the air. #Science #FlyingSquirrels #AnimalFacts #CoolFacts #Animals
What happens to a drop of water in microgravity? 💧 It stays perfectly round! Why? Without gravity pulling things down, surface tension takes over. It naturally pulls liquids (and even gas bubbles inside them) into the shape with the smallest surface area: a sphere. 🔵 Video : NASA #nasa #space #science #coolfacts #microgravity #astronaut

Passing by everyday industrial markings or highway hardware usually doesn't grab our attention, but some hidden engineering details are completely misunderstood. 😮 This eye-opening clip uncovers the real purpose behind the giant, cross-shaped "screw" embedded in the floor. While it looks exactly like a massive Phillips-head screw holding the ground together, it's actually an industrial access point and alignment marker used for heavy-duty infrastructure, surveying, or subterranean utility locks. It's a textbook example of how a highly functional industrial design can easily trick the eye into thinking it's just a scaled-up version of everyday hardware. Did you actually think this was holding a massive piece of the road together, or did you guess its real purpose? Drop your thoughts below! 👇 #IndustrialDesign #EngineeringLife #HiddenInPlainSight #CoolFacts #BuzzCore Credit - unknown [Dm for credit /removal]

This is a time lapse I took in the middle of the day in July. The amount of satellites is shocking! And many satellites don’t fly over the poles so this is still fewer than what you’d see from somewhere else on the planet! #southpole #antarctica #lifeinantarctica #satellite #space #outerspace #timelapse #astrophotography #aurora #auroraaustralis #auroraborealis #southernlights #southpolestation #polar #polarnight #iceicebaby #coolfacts #sonyalpha #frozen #frozentimelapse
Our eyes see more shades of green than of any other color 🌿 Because once, our lives depended on it - reading the forest, leaf by leaf, plant by plant. We didn’t learn to see green from a distance. We learned it by evolving inside it. The body still carries the memories, even when the mind forgets: we were never separate. We are nature, looking back at itself. #HumanNature #coolfacts #slowbeauty
Had the honor of riding the Goodyear Blimp and I learned so many interesting facts! 1. There is a dedicated ground crew that works in shifts so it is never unmanned. They do this so the blimp can hover in the wind freely. If they were to tether it, it could get damaged, so they let it swirl around the landing pad with the front connected to special truck. 2. There are 4 blimps worldwide and the ones in the US travel far and wide. Their journeys can take a LONG time. Weather, having ground support, and air speed can affect how long the trips are. This blimp takes two days to get to Vegas because of a lot of interesting factors! 3. You can't pop the blimp. There's a skeleton structure inside, so it won't just deflate without that being disassembled. 4. There isn't a blimp pilot school. Because there are no "training blimps" to practice on, you train in real time, on the job. You must be hold a commercial license though, like an airplane or helicopter pilot. 5. There is a bathroom on board but it's really just for emergencies and the pilots. A few more facts: Top speeds range from 50-70mph unless it catches a gust of wind. It feels like you're swaying like you would if you were on a boat. There's really no turbulence because you're moving so slowly. What else do you want to know about the blimp? ______________ #goodyearblimp #goodyeartires #goodyear #blimp #coolfacts
POV: we’re dancing at the party and discussing why the sky is blue, but sunsets are red. (This is also why golden hour photos are so good). The scattering of light is due to both gases as well as some small particles in the air. #science #til #todayilearned #drnoc #physics #coolfacts #pov
