Recently, our very own @municipalbigchris and @troy_a_knight had the chance to surprise @ashtonmoss13 for a little weekend of G in the bay! With the six of us scattered across California and the PNW, these moments are rarer than we’d like, but when we do get together, hilarity and memories ensue. Big shoutout to @dominicseelig @scottysheldo @no3puttsplz for joining in the fun 📽️: @versusgolf #Municipalsgolf #coricapark
We were there for the very first tee shots at Corica Park North, and let’s just say—this isn’t your typical muni. We teamed up with @mrshortgame to take a look at what’s happening in public golf, and what Corica is doing to flip the script. The truth? Public golf has always been the heartbeat of the game. It’s where most of us learned, hacked it around with friends, and started falling in love with golf without needing a private membership or a perfect swing. But there’s a lingering misconception that public golf has to mean slow rounds, bad conditions, or flat, boring layouts. Corica Park North blows that out of the water. This course has teeth. It has angles. It has strategy. It looks and plays like a modern design you’d find on the cover of a magazine—but it’s made for everyone. You can walk it. You can play it fast. You can shape shots, or just enjoy the ride. It’s proof that public golf, when done right, can stand toe-to-toe with any high-end experience. Huge props to the team at @coricaparkgolf for continuing to build something special here in Alameda. South Course. Now North. And they’re not done. what’s the best public course you’ve played that doesn’t get enough love? #CoricaPark #PublicGolf #GolfCourseDesign #MrShortGame #AmateurGolf #GolfForEveryone #ModernMuni #GolfReimagined #AmateurGolfDotCom
16th hole at @coricapark North course, dog 🦵 left. Par 5 that favors a right to left ball off the tee. With ⚠️ left and not that much room right side of the fairway. Really puts pressure on the tee shot to set up the approach shot. Always play it 10 yards short on approach, it plays a little down hill and still firm with all this rain and moisture we have been getting. Also the green slopes from left to right too! Be right of the flag if ur gonna miss, left is usually 💀. This has been a thorn in my side lately when playing here, should be a good look at 🦅 or easy birdie. Happy to snagged a 🐦 here last time I got to loop this Scottish style links course! #CoricaPark

When the word “church” comes up in conversation, the first thing we think of is a building. We have this mindset that church is a place we go to on Sundays. As we get our family dressed, fight through traffic and get a good seat, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that we aren’t just going to church; we are the church. In 1 Timothy 5, Paul describes the church as people dedicated to doing whatever it takes to reach out and help others. We have a responsibility to serve and help others in need as the church. Caring for each other as well as those outside of the church is the quickest way to see Jesus change lives. Too often, we see a need and wait for the pastor or someone on staff to take responsibility. But that’s not the way church works. Each of us has been given skills, abilities and opportunities to serve. In the Bible, church is always a reference to people, not a place. The church is a body of believers that live out the Gospel in their words and actions. The church is at its best when people inside the building take Jesus’ message outside the building and serve those they meet. #encorechurch #encorealameda #alamedaca #coricapark #ilovemyisland #alamedachurch
“Grow The Game”—what does it actually mean? We took a trip to Northern CA to get a sneak peek at how Corica Park and Northwood Golf Club are answering that question their own way—by opening up their spaces to everyone and creating meaningful programming. More to come soon… Thanks to @g.r.e.a.mgolf @putterrico Avani and Umesh @coricapark and Gaylord at Northwood Golf Club
