@levi.farrar reviews The Compression Training System by @larry_meregillano
.
"Hi Larry,
I just want to tell you how grateful I am for your CTS device. My trumpet mentor, Michael Miller @sirmickle introduced me to it when I started noticing a small leak in one corner of my embouchure, and, within a week, the problem was fixed.
I also used it a lot this year while touring with NYO Jazz, and it was a huge help—especially on long travel days. Being able to practice on a plane or in a hotel room without bothering anybody made a big difference, and it kept my chops feeling solid the whole time.
I really appreciate all you’ve done to make something that actually helps brass players. It’s made a real difference in my playing, and I’m so grateful for that.
Thanks again,
Levi"

Man I love (hate 😐) Year of the Dragon Mvt. 3. I cannot get this thing up to tempo. I’m still about a half a mile from the finish line.
Next month SBBB is doing an all-Sparke program and I am barely hanging on by a thread. I even went to a darker cornet/shallower mouthpiece to try to squeeze out a little more endurance, but these last couple of weeks I’ve had so many chop issues that I’ve gone back to a brighter cornet and my huge Wick 2B. It is what it is. Things feel a little better, but my chops are definitely still overworked.

🎺Napoli🎺 - with Wynton Marsalis cadenzas😍. Because of high register I've decided to record whole piece not on cornet but on the trumpet instead.
Which instrument do you prefer?

Stravinsky’s “Pétrouchka” showcases the virtuosity of nearly every section in the orchestra, and the trumpet solo 🎺 played here by Principal Trumpet @leathersboy is certainly no exception. We promise it’s even more dazzling live - grab your tickets for TONIGHT’S final concert of “Guerrero Conducts Pétrouchka” at the link in our bio!
