🔴 Daily Costume Breakdown: Pom Pom Monster. This costume was the first costume I made for my kid and still one of the favorites. It still lives in her closet.
The big takeaways are:
1. Hot glue gets heavy. Use larger pom poms to get more coverage with less glue (and less weight).
2. A variety of pom pom sizes looks better than one uniform size.
3. Keep the pom poms more sparse in the arm pits and crotch. This will make it easier to move.
4. Use a hat instead of an attached hood. It’ll stay on better.
5. Between the fleece, hot glue, pom poms, and hat this costume gets warm. It was perfect for a NYC Halloween - probably not ideal for warmer places.

Walk Act mit Mü, der Maus bei der Eröffung der 10. Figurentheater-Konferenz in Northeim am @theater_der_nacht.
In bunter Begleitung mit den Dodos von @thingumatheatre und dem Drachen von @kyratake1.
2018 habe ich während der Studiums mein Praxissemester am Theater der Nacht verbracht und seitdem hat mich dieser magische Ort nicht mehr losgelassen.
Dieses wundersame Haus mit seinen herzlichen Menschen, hat mir so manche Tür geöffnet, nicht zuletzt zur phantastischen, vielfältigen Welt des Figurenspiels.
2022 habe ich im Rahmen jener Puppenspielkonferenz, einen Workshop zum Großfigurenbau mit Christoph Buchfink gemacht, wo das Grundgerüst zur Maus Mü entstand.
Mit ihr wieder an den Ort der vielen Anfänge zurück zu kommen, ist für mich etwas ganz Besonders und fühlt sich gleichzeitig auch immer wieder ein bisschen wie nach Hause kommen an.
