Come with me to Metro 💖 Let me tell you how this community found me… It started at a country line dancing bar. I went alone. Ran into mutual friends. Then I was alone again — so I prayed. I asked God to bring me my people. Minutes later, someone asked me to two-step. While we danced I asked who he came with. He said, “My friends from church.” After the song ended, he introduced me to the group. I showed up the next Tuesday. And I’ve been at Metro ever since. That was three semesters ago. By my second semester I finally said yes to serving. After two interviews, by the grace of God, I was placed on the Welcome Team. It hasn’t always been easy. Between training clients, my own workouts, routines, and schedules — choosing Tuesday nights hasn’t always been convenient. But it has been transformational. Through consistent prayer, worship, and community, God has been revealing so much to me. He’s shown me patterns I didn’t realize I was repeating. Areas of my heart that still needed healing. Where I was operating from fear instead of faith. Where I was trusting myself more than Him. Where I needed to soften, surrender, and grow. I’ve learned how to sit with God instead of rushing past Him. How to receive correction with humility. How to let Him refine me instead of resisting change. Even when growth feels slow… even when it feels invisible… something is always happening beneath the surface. I grew up going to youth group in high school. Back then I didn’t really know Jesus — I just liked being around my friends. But this place has brought me peace, healing, reconciliation, love, accountability, and spiritual clarity in ways I’ll never regret. So here’s a little piece of my story. It’s like going to the gym — you just have to take the first step. If your heart is willing and you have the right guidance… you will see change 💖
