One of the coolest moments of @creativesouthga is their Ink Wars. 8 people, a blank wall, and 1 hour to make a cool drawing with acrylic markers. The catch? Nobody knows the topic until the second the clock starts. Can’t prepare. Can’t brainstorm much. Just go. You may think I’d panic, but I get pumped! Pretty similar to what I do for a living 😅 In 2023 I did an ok job and learned a lot. 2024, I forgot to sign up 🤪 But last year I came in strong and snatched that first place!! 🏆 This year, I’m defending my title. If you signed up, give me a good fight. I’m here for it, because I’ll also give it my best 🔥🔥 If you are going to Creative South this year, don’t miss this. It’s tonight. Free food, drinks, hang with friends, live music and live art. What’s not to love? LET’S GO!! #creativesouth #inkwars

Living the dream! This is my favorite memory from @creativesouthga of course it was great being on stage, learning new things, and meeting so many amazing people, but seeing and dancing with my baby girl Brooklynn Pearl smiling, dancing, and eating a snow cone at a luau. Having her tell people she was proud that I was her Momma on stage was #PRICELESS this is my why! To give my baby a better life and to know she can achieve her dreams, for her to see her Mother start all over and use my pain for my strength by creating @setback2setup and inspiring so many people #Blessed #CreativeSouth #SetbackToSetup

We had an amazing time at this year's Creative South! 🎉 The Heyo team launched our new ticketing platform, Eventrise, rolled out our fresh new website and branding, and even did live tapings for our new podcast, Contrast! 🎙️ Our favorite speakers? Jesse Taylor, who inspired us to boldly pursue every passion, and Felix Oliha, whose powerful message on creativity and AI reminded us to protect the soul of art. ✨ Also loved meeting our scholarship and mentorship winner—big congrats, Josh Alonzo! From laughing and breaking bread with the Heyo fam to mentoring incredibly talented students during portfolio reviews, it was a memorable first-time CS experience. The creativity, kindness, and intimacy of this community are unmatched. Sound On homies! Especially if you’re as old as I am and want to feel like you’re in highschool again. I freaking love the creative community. It has got to be the best community out there… Or maybe top 3 if I’m being fair. @creativesouthga is absolutely in my top 3 favorite conferences ever. I honestly say ‘top 3’ because I can’t decide! I promise you there is not one mean person you’ll meet there… No cut-throat inquiries, intense client hunting, constant ego-stroking and 1-upping… NON OF THAT. Just a bunch of cool creative people wanting to learn, teach, give you stickers and welcome you into this creative family. Family is definitely the key word here. I mean, I came into this conference straight from Japan, super jet-lagged arriving at the hotel at 2am or so. My workshop was that same day at noon lol. I went into this conference feeling the worst, and came out feeling the best.

For the keynote talk, it was probably the best talk I’ve ever done… I’m thinking the lack of sleep and jet-lag had a lot to do with that lol. In all seriousness it was the audience. I tend to be a mirror to the people I talk to, and since the homies at Creative South were so welcoming and cool, it made me show up at my best. Thank you so much @creativesouth team and the homie @bucket286 for welcoming me into the fam. I’ll 100% be back again next year… My Instagram homies you all better come with me! Huge shout out to everyone I met… If you didn’t make it in the video my bad! Stop me next time you see me with a camera haha. Also huge shout to my punk-rock dad @annamacorlando … Sorry I didn’t include our video clip! It was just super blurry lol, that’s operator (me) error For the song choice of this video… the DJ played this Blink182 song and couldn’t get it out of my head all week, and it reminded me of all the good times in high school. It is now personally forever branded to this conference lol

IN PERSON WORKSHOP ALERT!!!! Spend the day learning how to create dynamic text and lettering effects with me in illustrator at @creativesouthga this April! This will be my first time giving this workshop in person and it’s a great opportunity to get one on one IRL feedback, get questions answered on the spot, and uplevel your skills in an intimate setting. This workshop is meant for those who already have a handle on adobe illustrator, but want to get more layered, texturized and dynamic typography out of their workflow.
