Lose Your C-Section Shelf in the Next 12 Weeks! 📉💪
Your step-by-step guide 📍👇
📍 Comment “SHELF” for links to the C-section products I recommend
1. Cupping
Cupping can help improve the appearance and function of a C-section scar. It increases blood flow and tissue mobility, breaking up scar tissue and preventing it from sticking to healthy tissue.
2. Scar Massage
Like cupping, scar massage can increase blood flow and tissue mobility.
3. Exercise
Strengthening your deep abdominal muscles can help firm up loose muscles and reduce the appearance of a C-section scar.
4. Diet
Extra abdominal fat will increase the look of a C-section shelf, so a combination of diet and exercise can really support your healing! Foods rich in collagen and protein are best.

✨SAVE this post!! C-Section Shelf✨
Who feels like their c section scar just buckles, puffs out or folds over??
Well you are not alone! This can be common, but also something that can improve!
Why does this happen?
The layers of tissue are supposed to glide and slide on top of each other when you move or really whenever you breath!
So what happens when you cut through them and scar tissue lays down? It can most definitely affective the slide and glide!
This goes for ANY scarring. But specifically c-section scars, you are cutting through 7️⃣ layers of tissue. One of those being your abdomen!! That’s a lot of layers of scarring that can happen.
So what should you do?
✨ scar desensitization
✨ scar mobility
✨ breathwork
✨ abdominal and hip stretching
✨ rebuilding the core through the breath
For this post I mostly tough on scar massaging/mobility….but stay tuned for more!!
Were you taught scar massaging or techniques after your c-section? What was your experience?? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

You’ve been told your C-section scar would “just heal with time.”
But months—or even years—later, it’s still tight… numb… like it doesn’t belong to your body.
💥 The truth? It’s not just cosmetic.
That shelf you hate is often caused by deep adhesions under the surface—pulling on your skin, limiting your core strength, and messing with your digestion and posture.
Most OBs never mention this. But here’s what they don’t tell you:
→ Scar tissue needs guided mobility to heal properly
→ Numbness = poor nerve reconnection
→ A stuck scar doesn’t just affect your belly—it affects your entire core system
If you’re newly postpartum—you can even prevent this from happening. But you have to start before it gets worse.
Don’t wait until you feel broken. The earlier you start, the better your long-term healing.
✨ That’s why I created The Scar Healing Blueprint—a step-by-step recovery guide trusted by 1000+ moms to soften, mobilize, and finally feel connected to their body again.

Comment SCAR26 for my free C-Section Scar Recovery Guide 🖤
Yes you CAN move prior to 6 weeks 🙌
The goal with early postpartum movement after your C-Section is to get blood flowing, reduce blood clot risk, and begin reconnecting with your body after a major abdominal surgery.
➡️ Movement IS healing
Try this circuit in the first few weeks after your delivery and I promise your body will thank you!
- hook-lying TVA contraction x1 minute
- lumbar rotations x1 minute
- heel slides x1 minute
- open book x1 minute per side
- standing abdominal stretch x1 minute
- heel raises x1 minute
I love doing timed exercises early on postpartum so you can just shut off your brain and focus on your breath and mind-muscle connection 🧠

I was doing everything and still not seeing results.
The problem wasn’t effort, it was the wrong workouts. Once I switched to simple, core-focused strength moves, my lower belly finally started changing 👇🏽
Do these consistently:
- Glute bridges
- Knee tucks
- Dead bugs
- Toe taps
No crunches. Just 12 minutes and consistency.

C-section recovery hacks 🤯 because these weeks after you have your baby and have been through major surgery is no easy feat !!
1️⃣ Put a step stool by your bed!!
It makes getting in and out of bed SO much easier when your core is weak and your incision hurts
2️⃣ Wear high-waisted underwear and pants.
Low-rise waistbands rubbing on your incision = pain. High-waisted = comfort and support
3️⃣ Have stations on each floor of your house!
Set up nappy changing, snacks, and baby essentials wherever you spend time so you can avoid stairs as much as possible
4️⃣ Don’t miss a dose of painkillers!
For the love of god woman stay on top of your pain relief schedule!! Don’t miss a dose. You’ll notice it & regret it! Set alarms throughout the day as reminders.
5️⃣ Keep an eye out for signs of infection around your scar so you can catch it early. Comment “SIGNS101” and our automated system will send you a FREE Scar Infection Signs guide so you know what to look for!

C-section recovery tips, from a mother/baby RN! ⤵️
🚶♀️Repeat after me: walking is KEY to your recovery! We aim for C-section patients to get out of bed for the first time within 6-8 hours after surgery. Nothing crazy, just a short walk to the bathroom. This helps prevent blood clots and returns your gut function quicker, among other benefits!
💊 Set phone reminders for pain medication- whether you’re taking the ibuprofen/acetaminophen combo or the stronger stuff, you won’t want to forget a dose of pain control in the beginning (if you feel great in the first 12-24 hours, it’s because the anesthesia is still working! 😅)
💩 Don’t skip the stool softener! The combination of abdominal surgery and narcotics in your system can lead to severe constipation, staying hydrated and taking a stool softener can help.
❤️🩹 Wear an abdominal binder. The hospital *should* provide this after surgery. It helps to support the incision.
💨 Keep the incision dry. My favorite tips for this are to use a hair dryer after showering and place a clean maxi pad over top.
🫖 Hot mint tea and Mylicon for gas pain. One of the TOP complaints from C-section patients is severe gas pain- this is caused by several factors- the surgery itself, peristalsis after surgery, and pain medications. Walking is the best prevention, but if you get the pains anyway, try this combo.
What’s one C-section tip that helped your recovery?

Postpartum recovery is NOT the same for everyone.
But here’s a simple Week 1 guideline to help you regain mobility and support your healing safely ❤️✨
⬆️ Top: Gentle movements for natural delivery
⬇️ Bottom: Modified, scar-safe movements for C-section mums
Recovery is never one-size-fits-all 🤱
But, the right early movements can support:
• Better healing
• Improved blood circulation
• Gentle core activation
• Less stiffness & discomfort
✨ Aim for about 10 reps daily
✨ Continue consistently up to 6 weeks postpartum
