I did not have “$100m to build a website” on my government failings bingo card this year. Especially a week after sacking 300 CSIRO staff to save…$120m. Labor can’t manage money. #CSIRO #bom #canberra #waste #labor #liberal

A new report by the CSIRO found that if 82 per cent of the grid was powered using renewable energy like wind and solar, costs would come down in all states except WA. #energy #renewableenergy #electricity #csiro #research
Are you joining us on these hills? And do you have a hill you'd die on? Oh, and happy International Mountain Day! ⛰️ Also, we know what you’re thinking: can a hill be a mountain? If it feels like a mountain when you’re walking up it, that’s good enough for us. And that’s just another hill we’ll die on. #InternationalMountainDay #CSIRO #WeLoveScience
Did you know there were blonde echidnas? They're part of a sub-species found on Kangaroo Island, ‘Tachyglossus aculeatus multiaculeatus’. In this clip from ‘The Ecidhna (or Spiny Anteater)’, a 1969 documentary made by the CSIRO, the ‘straw-coloured’ animal is observed trundling through the bush, burrowing in leaf litter, and splitting wood to get at snacks. Animal documentaries of the era often leaned into playful narration – wombat in the snow, a platypus riding a current – but CSIRO, working here with its Department of Wildlife Research, takes a measured, scientific approach even when presenting striking facts (the echidna can hear with its nose!). Meet more magnificent Australian fauna at the link in our bio. NFSA ID: 15449 Year: 1969 #nfsa #nfsaonline #csiro #csirodoc #echidna
Now you know what we mean when we say we have to get back to the lab. 🐕 In celebration of #NationalPetMonth, please enjoy these CSIRO science-inspired dog names. But if you don't have a dog, no worries! They also work beautifully for cats, fish and babies. #BackToTheLabrador #TheGoodestLabAssistants #WeLoveScience #CSIRO

A little birdie here to remind you the @birdlifeoz #AussieBirdCount is almost over! 🐦 It's a yearly citizen science activity that requires spending 20 minutes recording all the birds you see in their dedicated app. There's even a built-in "bird finder" to help you identify any birds you're not sure about. You can do your count any time before the end of the weekend. Find out more and sign up on the Aussie Bird Count website. 🔗 📹 | jan_wegener_ #NestOfAll #EggcellentContent #CountUsIn #CSIRO #WeLoveScience

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Bioeconomy Corporation jointly organised the inaugural Malaysia–Australia Women in Biotechnology Luncheon yesterday at Zenith Hotel Putrajaya, centred on the theme “Inspire, Influence, Involve.” The event saw participation from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), represented by its Undersecretary for the Strategic Technology and S&T Application Division, Puan Aidawati binti Misdar. Representatives from the Australian High Commission were also present, underscoring the strength of Malaysia–Australia cooperation, particularly in vaccine manufacturing and health innovation. Highlighted were key commercialisation platforms such as CSIRO’s ON Accelerate and Bioeconomy Corporation’s Bio-based Accelerator (BBA), which have collectively advanced the growth of women-led enterprises, with 47 companies supported to date under BBA. Panel discussions featured participation from industry players including BioVerde Technologies Sdn Bhd, Institute for Medical Research, and Global Precision Diagnostics Sdn Bhd, focusing on challenges and opportunities for women at the intersection of science, industry, and policy. #BioeconomyCorporation #CSIRO #Malaysia #Australia #MOSTI
