In case you missed it, our quirky, lovable and oh-so-special Curly Sue celebrated her 7th birthday recently …and what a fantastic celebration and year it’s been! Curly Sue has been seizure-free for an ENTIRE YEAR, and the changes we’ve seen in her have been nothing short of amazing. It’s as though the calmness in her mind brought peace to her soul. For the past eight months especially, we’ve watched her blossom into the happiest version of herself. She’s found friends — even curling up with them for naps and giving them little grooming sessions. She now roams the house exploring new spaces, sleeps in all sorts of funny positions, and even plays with toys more than she ever did before! She still keeps her bold, quirky personality — our sweet orange tabby wouldn’t be Curly Sue without it — but she’s happier, more relaxed, and so full of love. She even tolerates (most of the time) being picked up for snuggles, though nail trims and brushing are still not her favorite. We know that seizures can return at any time, but for now, we’re holding on tightly to this incredible year of peace and joy for Curly Sue. We’re so grateful we never gave up on her — this sweet girl has brought endless love and light to our rescue family. Curly Sue’s incredible progress is thanks to the medications that have truly changed her life. Her meds cost $40 a month, and they’ve been vital in giving her this year of peace.
