Clients don’t hire us just for how things look. They hire us for how we think. A beautiful home is the result of hundreds of decisions most people never see. Layout changes before framing. Materials chosen with lead times in mind. Budgets protected before emotions take over. Problems solved before they ever reach you. Style matters. Of course it does. But strategy is what protects your investment. My job isn’t to present endless options or chase what’s trending. It’s to narrow the field. To ask the right questions early. To coordinate with the architect and builder so the details actually make sense. To make sure what looks good on paper works in real life, and on your timeline. I’m thinking about flow, resale, trade sequencing, long-lead items, lighting, scale, and how one decision impacts five others. That’s what design leadership looks like.
