Sobre o filme... Dark Shadows (2012). É a última parceria entre Tim Burton e Johnny Depp (depois de Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd e Alice in Wonderland). Dark Shadows (2012) follows Barnabas Collins, a wealthy and respected man whose life is destroyed after he breaks the heart of Angelique Bouchard, a powerful witch obsessed with him. Consumed by jealousy, she curses Barnabas by turning him into a vampire before burying him alive for nearly two centuries. When he is accidentally freed in 1972, Barnabas returns to find the once, great Collins family in ruins and the world around him completely transformed. Determined to restore his family’s legacy, Barnabas struggles to adapt to a new era while confronting the curse that continues to haunt him. As old enemies return and long, buried secrets resurface, the Collins family discovers that every generation has been shaped by magic, tragedy, and the consequences of choices made centuries before. At the center of it all is Barnabas’ search for redemption, belonging, and a second chance at the life that was stolen from him. What makes Dark Shadows so memorable is its unique blend of gothic romance, supernatural fantasy, horror, and dark comedy. Beneath its eccentric characters and haunting atmosphere lies a story about loneliness, lost love, family, and the hope that even after centuries of darkness, it’s still possible to find a place to call home. Wrapped in eerie mansions, candlelit halls, autumn landscapes, and timeless gothic beauty, Dark Shadows transforms a vampire tale into a story about love, redemption, and the ghosts, both literal and emotional, that never truly leave us. 🦇🕯️🖤🍂 #darkshadows #timburton #halloween #movies

In the 2012 Dark Shadows movie, Victoria Winters (played by Bella Heathcote) is a tragic, supernatural figure who serves as the reincarnation of Barnabas Collins' 18th-century lost love, Josette du Pres. Her storyline is an interpretation of doomed romantic loyalty, where her recurring visions and eventual transformation into a vampire act as a literal merging of her past and present. Victoria’s character arc leans heavily into reincarnation. Throughout the film, she is haunted by visions of Josette and the tragic history of the Collins family. She serves as a link connecting the modern timeline to the historical tragedy. Her storyline culminates at Widows’ Hill, echoing the exact curse that killed Josette. Instead of perishing, she is bitten by Barnabas and reborn as a vampire. This interpretation shifts her role from a passive victim to someone who embraces her supernatural destiny, choosing eternity with Barnabas over human mortality.
