Blondie’s Debbie Harry shares her thoughts on Taylor Swift: “Anybody who gets this far, how can you not think that they’re wonderful?” Swift has nodded to the ‘70s rock icon’s style over the years — most notably at the 2016 Met Gala, where she paired a futuristic Louis Vuitton mini with Harry’s signature bleach blonde crop. I caught up with Harry on Thursday night at the NYC Ballet Spring Gala. Our interview marks the first time the Blondie frontwoman has directly weighed in on Swift’s legacy. #debbieharry #taylorswift #redcarpet #musicindustry #interview

Country music icon Dolly Parton never ceases to amaze, and her recent Instagram announcement proves just that. Parton, who has been riding high on the success of her latest album, Rockstar, dropped a bombshell for fans eagerly awaiting more from the legend. “Surprise! Did you all think I was done?” Parton teased on Instagram, hinting at something big in the works. A revamped version of her timeless 1973 hit Jolene, featuring the Italian sensations MĂ„neskin. Available exclusively via digital download of her album Rockstar on her website, this new version promises a fresh take on the beloved classic. Parton is not one to skimp on surprises. Alongside the MĂ„neskin collab, the exclusive download version of Rockstar includes another unexpected treat: a cover of Eddie Money’s 1977 hit, Two Tickets To Paradise. The album itself boasts an impressive lineup, with a whopping 40 guest stars making appearances. Legends such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting, Debbie Harry, Steve Perry, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, and more join forces with Parton to create a star-studded musical experience. “I do think rock is an attitude. In fact, I found that out for myself when I started singing those rock’n’roll songs. Standing there and remembering all the originals, I thought: ‘Oh my god, I’ve got to make sure that I’m true to this.’” Rockstar marks Parton’s 49th solo album and is partly inspired by her recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Initially hesitant due to identifying as a country star rather than a rock one, Parton’s perspective shifted upon realising the inclusive nature of the Rock Hall. Meanwhile, MĂ„neskin continues to make waves with their own music. Recently dropping a video for their new single The Driver, featured on the expanded version of their 2023 album Rush! (Are U Coming?), the band keeps the momentum going. What do you make of this collab?
A song about the fragility of romance. The lyrics describe a relationship that initially felt perfect—a "gas" and "divine"—but quickly turned sour, revealing that love was easily shattered, built on mistrust, and ultimately left the narrator disillusioned. Blondie released “Heart of Glass” in 1979 on their breakthrough album Parallel Lines, and it became one of the most defining songs of the new wave era. There’s something instantly captivating about “Heart of Glass” that still holds up decades later. The blend of disco rhythms, new wave attitude, and Debbie Harry’s cool, detached vocal delivery creates a sound that feels both experimental and effortlessly iconic. What makes the song so enduring is its contrast. Beneath the upbeat groove lies a story of emotional confusion and heartbreak, giving it a depth that sets it apart from typical dance tracks of its time. Some songs define a moment in music history. Others go on to influence generations. “Heart of Glass” has done both. Credits: “Heart of Glass”, performed by Blondie #blondie #heartofglass #80smusic
