Decolonized Your Mind There were empires, villages, and cities built by BIPOC people. And we fought to keep them that way. šŸŽ„: @nubia.the.creator

Colonized vs. ✨decolonized✨
The western tradition of gowns and capes was done away with to don handloom and handcrafted Indian garments. This along with hand woven tussar silk angavastram in nift colours of grey field and red border and cream/kora colour garments is our signature attire keeping the solemnity of an academic function. Why don’t Indonesians speak Dutch today—even after 300 years of colonization? Because the Dutch kept their language for the elite. Most Indonesians spoke local tongues like Javanese and Malay. After independence in 1945, Bahasa Indonesia became the national language—a powerful symbol of unity and freedom. This rare moment is from the 1971 documentary Wet Earth and Warm People. Look it up if you want to see the full story behind Indonesia’s voice. #DutchEastIndies #nederlandsindie #nederland #indonesia #IndonesiaHistory #ColonialLegacy #BahasaIndonesia #JavaneseCulture #PostColonial #WetEarthAndWarmPeople
They told us tradition was stitched. We believed it. But the saree wasn’t born with a blouse and petticoat—it evolved from unstitched, fluid grace: antariya, uttariya, and stanapatta. What we now call ā€œproperā€ was once imposed. What we label ā€œboldā€ was once our norm. Today I wear both— āž”ļø The version they taught us to call ā€œmodestā€ āž”ļø And the version they erased and labeled ā€œrebelliousā€ Because true heritage is not about conforming— It’s about remembering. I’m draped in a pure linen saree that breathes freedom—handwoven and sustainably made, available via @femantraa . This look is completed with a handmade statement neckpiece, customized to reflect my unapologetic roots by @ekas_solelyforbeautifulsouls . ✨ Let this reel remind you: You don’t have to choose between elegance and authenticity. You are both. šŸ” Save this for the next time someone says ā€œthat’s not traditional.ā€ šŸ—£ļø Comment below—what does decolonized dressing mean to you? #DecolonizeTheDrape #LinenSareeLove #SustainableFashion #HandmadeJewelry #ReclaimTheDrape #SareeNotSorry #EthicalIndianWear #DesiAndProud #IndianFashionRevolution #sareestyling
ā€œStick to Travel content. Stop being political!ā€ I travel through stolen lands. I see colonizers glorified and our heroes erased. There’s no decolonized journey without truth. If that’s too much for you - unfollow šŸ‘‹šŸ¾ I’m not here to entertain. I’m here to inspire, educate and awaken. #isaidwhatisaid #landback #decolonize #mindfultravel
Decolonizing my meals was the first lesson I learned when I felt the call to decolonize my mind which automatically, decolonized my motherhood. I started this journey in 2014 when my son and I were battling dis-ease. Eczema, candida, acne, and confusion. I remember praying: ā€œIf the Creator made us good, why don’t we feel or look good?ā€ The answer: Heal from the inside out. And that’s exactly what I did. From 2014-2016 lots of trial and error. In 2016, I found Dr. Sebi’s work and never looked back. As a mother and my children's first teacher, I knew I had to become an example. And coming from a government school and church I had to unlearn the animalistic and animal husbandry I had been under for so long. The colonized systems don’t teach health, healing, or self-mastery, which are the foundation of getting the mind out of the matrix so that we can eat to live CONSISTENTLY. Here’s how I decolonize our meals and teach my children to care for their temples: 1. Morning Hydration – herbal teas, water-rich fruits, smoothies. I water myself first. 2. Midday Fuel – a hearty, plant-based meal to stay energized and productive. 3. Light Evenings – sweet and savory salads that satisfy cravings, not destroy energy. 4. Balanced Living – when most of your meals are clean, there’s no guilt when you enjoy a family outing, holy day, Sunday dinner, or celebration. Food is spiritual. Food is medicine. Food is power. And when we reclaim that power, we break generational dis-ease. We create free children, free minds, and We rise. #DecolonizeMotherhood #EatToLive #FoodIsPower #HolisticParenting #HealingMama #DrSebiLifestyle #RaisingFreeChildren #MatrixBreakers #GenerationalHealing #NaturalLiving #AlkalineMama #SelfMastery #drsebi #alkaline #eattolive #veganinfluencer #vegankids #plant-based #plantbasedinfluencer #travelinfluencer #mominfluencer #momvegan #humanitarian #humanitarianinfluencer #makeamericahealthyagain #trump2025 #trump ---

In this episode, we open a new chapter in our journey by exploring Achille Mbembe’s groundbreaking work On the Postcolony. Who is Mbembe? Why does this book matter so much in understanding Africa today? From colonial legacies to the everyday realities of power and survival, we break it down in clear, engaging language. This is not just theory, it’s a mirror to the Africa we live in. #AchilleMbembe #OnThePostcolony #AfricanStudies #Postcolonial #NigeriaPodcast #AfricanPhilosophy #HistoryMatters #CriticalThinking #PodcastAfrica
