Muddy Waters performing “Honey Bee” live in 1970 on the Beat-Club. Talk about a masterpiece of a performance, I’ve watched this one over and over and it just never gets old. The band is firing on all cylinders, from the sweet sound of the ivories, the warm sound of the harp, the delicate rhythm of drums and bass, and of course the rich voice of Mr. Muddy Waters. It’s already blues perfection and to push it even further Muddy plays an amazing slide guitar solo that sounds like a woman’s cry.
