Within Desaru Coast sits the gem of this property designed by Kerry Hill Architects, and Mandarin Oriental has now officially made it theirs. Marking their foray into luxury resorts into Southeast Asia, and their second property in Malaysia, along with its proximity to Singapore, this is a strategic move from the group to invest in the tourism potential Desaru Coast has. With plans of renovating the space in phases, expect the year ahead to come with many beautiful surprises. One last Desaru post… I promise! 😄 There were simply too many wonderful memories not to share: watching fireflies flashing like Christmas lights, enjoying crayfish together, and celebrating our June babies’ birthdays. Most of all, I’m thankful for the friendships forged and the memories made between our residents and volunteers. Until next year! ❤️ #PAPTampinesEast #listencarenact

The Mandarin Oriental (@mo_desaru) in Desaru Coast (@desarucoastmalaysia) is Mandarin Oriental’s first foray into resorts in Southeast Asia. Within their beautiful space, surrounded by nature and the ocean, the hotel breakfast buffet features a healthy mix of cuisines, along with a vast à la carte menu. The breakfast is available for non in-house guests as well. #TatlerDiningMY #TatlerTastes

This Desaru trip was meant to be a family detox — time to reset, slow down, and just be together. What we didn’t expect was to stumble upon @ombakfestivalmy. And so we stayed on. The kids were happily lost in Ombak Kids — braiding hair, racing Lego builds, playing kampung games — while we got to sneak away for Simply Red (singing along to If You Don’t Me By Now and Stars), and a lunch with Chef Andrew Walsh reminded me how healing good food can be when shared. We got the reset we came for… and something more: spontaneity, joy, and music we didn’t plan for, but welcomed with open arms. Thank you @desarucoastmalaysia for the warm hospitality, and @sireyadesarucoast for such a gorgeous stay. 🌿 It was everything we didn’t know we needed.
