This is not just a retelling. It’s 11th-century political tension. It’s marriage as power structure. It’s survival in a violent, shifting world. It’s a woman navigating ambition, loyalty, and consequence on her own terms. ✨ Clearview Reads 2026 📖 All Our Yesterdays by Joel H. Throwing it back to high school. 🤓These were the novels and plays I had to read my junior and senior years of high school in my literature and English courses. Just realized I forgot to Tom Sawyer! 🙃 Some well-known and some on the more obscure side. Overall, I enjoyed my rigorous homeschooling language arts curriculum though I liked some of these books more than others. It’s funny to re-read copies of stories I read for school and see all the annotations and underlinings of teenage me, haha. Which of these have you read? See any favorites? 📚✍🏻🤓 . . . . . . #highschoolcurriculum #classicnovels #classicauthors #classicplays #homeschool

They by: Kay Dick is one of the most haunting and unsatisfying reads and I LOVED it! Sometimes literature is meant to make you feel a certain way, and that is MOST DEFINITELY the case with this one! #kaydick #queerliterature #mcnallyeditions #bookreel #literaryfiction @mcnallyeditions
When a boy learns what it actually means to be a man. Available on Amazon and other digital stores for $2.99 https://books2read.com/u/bzZazE
“Age was a peculiar concept for Owein Mansel. He’d been born in 1624, and been spiritually conscious ever since, which technically made him 227 years old. However, the majority of that time had been spent embodied in a house on an island off the coast of Rhode Island, and houses were, by definition, not living.“ I am absolutely loving Owein’s growth as he learns to be a human again and as he grows to be a man. Even though he’s technically 227 years old, he originally died when he was 12. He’s spent very little of that time in a human body. I enjoyed watching as he learned what it means to have honor and having to choose between what wants and try to do the right thing. I love the relationship he has with Hulda and Merritt, and especially with their kids. He’s the perfect great (times a lot) uncle. His friendship with Fallon was sweet and made me sad. And I enjoyed his letters with Cora. As much as I hate Silas Hogwood, the chapters from his perspective were interesting, he is just so evil to his core. He’s the perfect example of power corrupting. The story was absolutely unputdownable and I still love the magic system and their views of the world. And that ending was so suspenseful and truly had me worried. And definitely made me cry. Now, I am truly needing the next book because I have to see what happens next for Owein as he makes his way to England and Merritt, Hilda, Beth, and the rest of their little family. #bookreview #charlienholmberg #whimbrelhouse
