I'll use random photos from my camera roll to create the many layers, add the color, texture, etc. that make up a digital abstract. Included but not limited to: photos of my own art, snaps from vacation, random walls, floors, drawings...all pieces of me and my life in some way. Anyway, cheers! Throwback to this abstract landscape collage, made in Procreate using brushes from my Mixed Media Collage Set. This one’s from a couple of years ago, but the set is still going strong and works beautifully for layered, tactile pieces like this. Whenever I play digital abstract, I find myself gravitating towards vibrant colours to experiment with. I usually select at least one striking hue to create a compelling contrast that I can weave through the various layers of my artwork. The use of bright colours infuses the piece with strong emotions, effectively generating an energetic atmosphere that draws the viewer in and elevates the overall impact of the work. distressing digital prints with chemicals… new year and it’s finally time to kick into action a new project / process i’ve been experimenting with. a lot of my work leans towards the analogue and abstract, obscuring the image through destructive processes, but more recently, instead of directly damaging film negatives and darkroom prints, i’ve decided to play with digital prints. this all comes as part of a recent project i’ve been wanting to explore. i don’t know whether this is specifically about gender, identity, family archive, personal archive or dissociation and passage of time, but i’m attempting to explore this disconnect i feel from my childhood, taking an image of myself from when i was younger and distressing it with a variety of chemicals to create this distorted image. it’s all very early work at the moment, experimenting with chemicals and processes and image types, but ive got some interesting results so far. this one in paris as made with hydrogen peroxide, mold remover and drain cleaner diluted 1:10! much more to come and hopefully 2026 will bring a lot of fun, cool art! #alternativeprocess #experimentalphotography #alternativeprocessphotography
