98% of 3-5 year olds scored at genius level for this skill…
It’s called divergent thinking - and while it’s not the same as creativity or innovation, it’s at the heart of both.
It’s the ability to see many possible answers, not just one.
To think metaphorically, visually, and in analogies - not just logically.
Researchers tested 1,500 people on this kind of thinking.
Those who scored highest were classed as “geniuses.”
Guess what? They were all kindergarteners.
We’re all born with this capacity.
The challenge is keeping it alive - not educating it out of ourselves.

What’s your go to morning tune 💃🏻….
1️⃣ It Boosts Dopamine (Instant Mood Upgrade)
When you listen to music you love, your brain releases dopamine — the same “feel-good” chemical linked to motivation and reward.
That means:
• You feel more optimistic
• You’re more energized
• You’re more likely to take action
2️⃣ It Reduces Cortisol (Stress Hormone)
Mornings can spike cortisol — especially if you:
• Check email first thing
• Think about your to-do list
• Wake up already feeling behind
Inspiring or uplifting music helps regulate that stress response. Your nervous system shifts from “reactive” to “ready.”
3️⃣ It Improves Focus & Mental Clarity
Music activates multiple areas of the brain:
• Memory
• Emotion
• Attention
• Motor function
Upbeat, inspiring music can:
• Increase alertness
• Improve concentration
• Help you transition from sleep to productivity smoothly
4️⃣ It Sets Emotional Intention
Music programs your emotional state.
If you start with:
• Gratitude-based songs → you feel grateful
• Empowerment songs → you feel confident
• Faith-based songs → you feel grounded
• High-energy songs → you feel unstoppable
It’s basically emotional priming.
5️⃣ It Builds Resilience Over Time
Consistently starting your day with uplifting music can:
• Improve overall mood regulation
• Increase optimism
• Strengthen emotional resilience
• Reduce symptoms of anxiety
It becomes a ritual — and rituals build stability.
6️⃣ It Enhances Creativity
Music:
• Stimulates divergent thinking
• Enhances storytelling flow
• Increases idea generation

Comment "BOOK" below for more info and pre-order links for my new book, Inside the Box, in which I share science and stories that show how constraints can make you more creative, productive, and satisfied.
We tend to think creativity requires freedom. Research suggests the opposite.
Psychologists call it creative constraint: when resources shrink, imagination expands.
Monet limited his palette and discovered new visual effects. George Lucas worked with a tight budget and had to invent new filmmaking technology. Across domains, limits activate divergent thinking, the mental process that finds new paths when familiar ones are blocked.
Remember this: limits do not kill creativity. They enhance it.

Have you always felt there was more to giftedness than grades, but couldn't explain it?
Comment ✨️LINK✨️ for my workshop that explores the emotional, sensory and cognitive sides of giftedness.
Things that stand out to me about Kevin McCallister's giftedness:
✅️Divergent thinking - "this necklace isn't a necklace, it's a diversion"
✅️Problem solving skills - needed I say more?
✅️Asynchronous development - he is still just a kid
✅️Complex connections - "I was drawn to the children's hospital which is getting a large donation from the toy store that they are planning to rob and I feel intensely moved to help in any way I can"

Through my research at MIT I learned that I was using AI incorrectly.
Below are some examples, but first the thought process:
There are two types of thinking
Convergent: narrowing existing information toward a solution.
Divergent: generating something that did not exist before.
AI is exceptional at convergent thought. It physically cannot do divergent thought.
Which means if you are using it to generate your ideas, your questions, your creative direction, you are outsourcing the only part that actually makes you valuable.
Here are examples of convergent vs divergent prompting:
Before: “Write me a business idea for college students”
After divergent thinking: “I noticed every productivity app assumes students are lazy. What if the real problem is that they care too much about the wrong things. Build around that.”
Before: “Help me prep for my quant interview”
After divergent thinking: “Every candidate will talk about their strongest moment. I want to talk about the time I was struggling with classes and still got a role. Help me build that into a story.”
The cost of answers is dropping to zero. The value of the original thought is everything now. Do the divergent work yourself first, then let AI execute

This #InternationalDayOfPlay, we’re celebrating just how powerful learning through play can be. 💪 💪 💪
Essential for your child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development, play comes in many forms.
Here are a few of our favorites:
🧩 Unstructured play helps develop the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for abstract thinking, learning from trial and error, and more.
🚰 Sensory play allows babies to explore the world by touching, seeing, hearing, smelling, and tasting. It helps build associations between information they gather through multiple senses and strengthens cognitive skills.
🪄 Pretend play promotes curiosity and imagination and can help children grow their vocabulary as they hear new words from play partners.
🧒 Independent play encourages creativity and divergent thinking, which supports problem-solving. It can also help children practice focusing their attention on one activity.

Against All Odd : The Power of Fighting through the NO’s with @saffwomzz
@saffwomzz (Safwan & Omar) left their careers to pursue an opportunity in the Camel breeding business in Saudi with no prior know-how or understanding of that world.
How? Because they fought every rejection and knocked on every closed door until they earned their stripes.
Their biggest drivers were believing in one another, pushing past every perceived limitation, until they not only earned a seat on the table in the Camel trading world, but their story was so inspiring that they starred as THEMSELVES in an 8 episode docu-series, Camel Quest, to share their story with the world. To be aired end of June 2023.
The inspiring story of Omar & Safwan is a beautiful reminder that we can all create our own opportunity, irrespective of who we are and what are background is. In a world of followers and fame and placing people in boxes, Omar and Safwan show us the power behind divergent thinking, while breaking the mold of traditional success.
Every NO takes us one step closer to a YES.
We recently had the pleasure of working with Antler’s new cohort of start-up entrepreneurs, enabling us to access divergent thinking to produce cutting edge solutions to real challenges faced by the real estate industry at present.
Through Investa’s partnership with Antler, we’re excited to see how we can bring these pioneering ideas to life.
