That woman in the first clip was happy. That is the part that is hard to explain. I had the marriage. I had the house. I had a calendar full of things to say yes to. And I still came home and ate alone at the kitchen island at 11pm. I was not faking that smile. I just was not paying attention. Not to the weight. Not to the quiet. They call it the divorce glow up. Mine was real, and it did not happen the way people think. When my marriage ended at 55, I looked exactly how I felt. Tired, faded, older than my age, like the stress had aged me a decade in a single year. For a while I let myself believe that was just what heartbreak and getting older look like. It was not. When I finally started taking care of myself again, I found out my skincare had never really been working, and not because of my age or the stress. Almost everything I put on my face was just sitting on the surface and never getting deep enough to matter. Your skin has a barrier that blocks, and it blocks your serums right along with it, so nothing was reaching the layer that actually firms and lifts. The thing that turned it around was mesotherapy. It gets the good stuff past the surface where it can finally do something, and within a few weeks my texture and my deeper lines started to change. The glow up was never the divorce.
