🌍💧 Discover the art of water purification with our DIY water filter project! Perfect for students, eco-enthusiasts, and anyone interested in science and survival skills. Learn how to create a simple yet effective water filtration system using just a plastic bottle, sand, and charcoal.
Materials You'll Need:
A clear plastic bottle
Clean sand
Activated charcoal
Scissors or a knife
Cloth or coffee filter
Optional gravel
Build Your Filter:
Prepare the bottle by cutting the bottom and puncturing the cap.
Place a cloth or coffee filter at the neck to keep materials in place.
Add a layer of activated charcoal for chemical filtration.
Follow with a layer of sand for physical filtration.
Optionally, add gravel for improved filtration.
Science Behind It:
This filter demonstrates physical and chemical filtration. Sand traps particles, while charcoal adsorbs impurities, making water safer.
Educational and Practical:
It's an excellent way to teach about environmental science and water sustainability. While this basic model filters water, always test for purity before drinking.
Safety Tips:
Ensure cleanliness and safety in materials used. Supervise young experimenters, especially when handling sharp tools.
Expand Your Knowledge:
After mastering this, explore more with different materials or advanced filtration systems. Each step is a learning opportunity in environmental science and water purification.

It’s been three months. THREE MONTHS since this painted contact paper experiment on my dishwasher.
So far, in the name of DIY science, we’ve roughed it up with toys, food, and daily use and it’s performed beautifully. Next up:
Maybe some strong cleaners or scrubbing?
If you missed parts one and two, I’ve got them posted in stories today and will save them to a highlight.
Water Makes Matchsticks Move! Cool Science Experiment #shorts #physics #science #surfacetension #reels #instagramreels
Watch this amazing science experiment where a drop of water makes a star-shaped matchstick arrangement expand! The secret lies in surface tension and wood absorption, creating a mesmerizing movement. Try it yourself and impress your friends!
Let's understand the reason!
When a drop of water is added at the center of the matches arranged in a star shape, it reduces the surface tension at that point.
The water is absorbed by the wooden matches, causing them to swell slightly. This swelling generates a force that pushes the matches outward.
The combination of reduced surface tension and the swelling of the matches causes the star shape to expand.
In simple terms,
The matches we use are made of birch wood. When you break the matches, you strech and compress the wood fibres inside it.
When you puts drop of water in the middle of closed formation, the dry wood fibres in each broke matches absorbs some of it. This causes the fibres to swell and then expand. The absorption of water in matches is due to capillary action.

Underwater Fireworks Experiment
This video showcases a fascinating science experiment where a firework is ignited and then placed underwater inside a clear plastic jar. As the firework burns, it creates a brilliant, glowing spark beneath the surface, emitting a series of tiny, rapid bubbles. The narration explains that this chemical reaction releases hydrogen gas, turning a simple firework display into a miniature underwater spectacle. 🎆💧
The experiment highlights the power of chemistry, showing how certain reactions can maintain combustion even when submerged. The jar eventually fills with thick white smoke and bright yellow light, demonstrating the intense energy released during the process. It’s a captivating blend of visual flair and scientific curiosity, proving that even common items can produce extraordinary results. 🧪✨

Free electricity… from magnets? 🧲⚙️
It’s not magic — it’s Faraday’s Law in action!
When you spin a magnet near a copper coil, you create real electric current. 🔋💡
No batteries. No solar. Just motion + magnetism = power.
This is how dynamos, wind turbines, and even generators work at the core.
So, is it truly “free energy”? Not exactly — but it’s a fascinating way to understand real science in action.
Would you try building your own mini generator?
