This era of Pixar and DreamWorks animated films was unmatched... Doc Hudson—famously the “Fabulous Hudson Hornet”—is a legendary racer in the Pixar Cars universe, having dominated the Piston Cup in the early 1950s by winning three consecutive championships (1951–1953) and setting the record for most wins in a single season. His career was tragically cut short by a crash in 1954, which led to his sudden withdrawal and retreat to Radiator Springs, where he became both the small town’s judge and its secretive mentor. When Lightning McQueen arrives as a brash newcomer, Doc initially clashes with him—testing his ego and teaching him humility—but eventually reveals his racing past and imparts the legendary “turn right to go left” technique. This mentorship evolves into a strong father-son dynamic, with Doc serving as McQueen’s crew chief and advisor during McQueen’s comeback in the Piston Cup, guiding him not just to racing success but also personal growth. Filming scenes for “Benchmark” during the 2024 summer took me to Great Falls, Montana for the annual Zadick Bros Wrestling Camp where I filmed Mike and Bill Zadick coaching at their camp. Bill Zadick is the head coach for the USA Wrestling National Men’s Freestyle Team, coaching the countries best wrestlers on the highest level, yet he travels home each summer to coach Montana’s youth. Bill later that summer traveled to Paris for the 2024 Olympics where the USA men’s freestyle team brought home 3 medals. . “Benchmark” follows wrestling coach, Mike Zadick, over the course of 2024-2025 as he rebuilds his late father’s used car dealership into a world class wrestling club for Montana’s youth. Big Cedar Media won a Big Sky Film Grant to help fund the production of the 45 minute documentary film. . You can learn more about @benchmarkwrestling by visiting Mike’s website (benchmarkwrestling.org) and find out more about “Benchmark” the film on Big Cedar Media’s website (bigcedarmedia.com) or follow link in bio to “doc films” and then “benchmark.” . #documentaryfilmmaker #videoproductioncompany #videointerview #montanafilm #montananonprofit #iowahawkeyes #iowawrestling #flowrestling #folkstylewrestling #freestylewrestling #usawrestling #grecoromanwrestling #worldwrestling #montanawrestling #montanafilmoffice #bigskyfilmgrant #bozemanbusiness #bozemanmt #bozemanfilmmaker #montanafilmmaker #montanavideographer
