“OMG the dog said no to a kid—why do you have an aggressive dog?” If you can read this, you can better understand when a dog is saying no. Because this is what people miss. Most people would look at this and say the dog is “fine.” And that’s the problem. Dogs don’t always say no loudly. They say it in small ways; turning their head, avoiding, staying still. But those signals get ignored… because people expect dogs to just tolerate everything. And when a dog finally sets a boundary in a way people can’t ignore? That’s when they get labeled “aggressive.” Instead of asking what was missed leading up to it. If you don’t know what you’re looking at, you miss it. More kids could be kept safe if we stopped waiting for the big reaction… and started listening to the quiet ones. My daughter asked and respected the answer. #kidsanddogs #dogbodylanguage #dogbehavior #dogtrainer
Dog pulling on walks? Try this 🐕✨ DISCLAIMER: This is not for puppies and it will not fix reactivity. If your dog is a a little out of whack try this, but if your dog is a heavy puller get an actual gentle leader. Turn your leash into a gentle leader in 60 seconds and take control back. Less pulling. More calm. Better walks. It’s not about being stronger… it’s about better control. #dogtraining #dogmom #dogmama #leashtraining #dogtips #dogbehavior #doglife #puppytraining #dogtrainer #dogsofinstagram
Most people reward excitement… That’s why their dog loses control the second someone walks in. At MK9, we don’t train tricks we build discipline under pressure. “Place” isn’t optional. It means: ✔ Stay put ✔ Stay calm ✔ Ignore distractions ✔ Hold the command until released If your dog can’t hold place when it matters… you don’t have control yet. #dogtrainer #pitbulls #staffy #place #packanimals

Dog “reactivity” isn’t just bad behavior — it’s often a nervous system that’s stuck in overdrive. When a dog doesn’t have clear structure, boundaries, or meaningful outlets for their instinctual energy, they live just below threshold… constantly. It doesn’t take much for them to tip over into barking and lunging. That’s not defiance — that’s overwhelm. The fix isn’t just correcting the explosion. It’s changing the baseline. When we intentionally build in moments of regulation, give them purposeful ways to use their energy, and create clarity in their daily life, we help bring their nervous system out of survival mode. Over time, that’s where real emotional stability comes from. #dogtrainer #reactivedog #aussieshepherd #regulation #nervoussystem

Do you trim your dogs nails? How is that going for you? My advice - don’t dive right in, take the time to desensitise your pup to the tools and the sounds, don’t rush, be generous with the treats and be patient. Yooos gud gurllll! 🤭 #dogtraining #dogtrainer #clickdogs
