March 26: The Flag of Nevada was officially adopted 😊🟦⭐💐it marks the day in 1929, when the current flag design was formally adopted.
On this date, the state government of Nevada approved a new version of the state flag, refining earlier designs to create the one still recognized today.
Nevada had an earlier flag adopted in 1905, but its design and details were not clearly standardized.
A design competition was held to improve the flag’s appearance and symbolism.
The winning concept was later modified slightly before becoming official in 1929.
The flag design has:
- A silver star — representing Nevada as the “Silver State”
- The words “Battle Born” — referencing Nevada’s admission to the Union during the American Civil War
- The state name “Nevada” displayed prominently
- A blue background, symbolizing loyalty and justice
Although it adopted in 1929, the flag’s lettering was later slightly adjusted in July 25, 1991 to improve readability—showing that even official symbols can evolve over time.

📣 Chat, how do we feel about our Reps.’ scores?
The @lcvoters’ 2025 National Environmental Scorecard just dropped, and it shows how #NV's members of Congress voted on key issues like energy costs, public lands, and environmental protections.
For those of us in #NNV, the results stood out: Rep. Mark Amodei scored *0%* on this year’s scorecard!
When energy bills are already rising, and our summers keep getting hotter, those votes matter.
